  14. I agree. Do you know whatever happened to it?
Last I knew Jerry Lupton had it. He got it after it had been crashed in the front.
Don't know where it went from there.....

A few years ago Carson McKeen had it. It was rough. Don't know what happened after that.

  16. Wow, interesting information. I always knew that it was wrecked, but from everything I heard it sounded like it was completely destroyed and was scrapped. I really hope somebody saves it.
I may be wrong but wasn't it wrecked very soon after it was finished? I know it wasn't around too long.
I agree with Doug (@49toad), it was one of Elden's greatest works--along with the Crimson Skull. E

  17. I don't know how much time had transpired between completion and the accident. I don't know how long Elden had it either but I do know that it was for sale on a south Broadway car lot in Wichita at one time. That was prior to the crash.

'40 Desoto grilles and sharknose Graham headlights work surprisingly well together on that slick looking coupe. I would not have thought to pair those two things up. I'd like to see that car sitting at a legitimate ride height, really a neat car.

Hot Rods, 1932,33,34,39,40 Fords. Customs, basically anything that rolled off the showroom floor! I find it fascinating, the types of cars that are Customized and the part swapping that makes one car stand out from another. Packard tail lights on a 51 Merc, or a 56 Chev, 54 Chev grill in a 49-51 Merc, 51-54 Ford, 56 Olds tail lights in a 52-54 Ford. Desoto grills, 57 Buick grills, if it's been made by one,it can be swapped into another. Every day I look at this thread and I'm just amazed at the cars that have been built and the way they have been built. At 71 years old I still remember the first Custom car I ever saw, "in the little book", I was at Scott County Drug, the local drug store and soda fountain, was taking a break from my Paper Route, just got done with my "Cherry Coke" and was walking out past the Magazine stand, out of the corner of my eye I saw this Custom Car on the cover of this little book. I stopped , looked and picked up the book to check out this kool car! A 1949 Ford Club Coupe, Black, Frenched head lights, tail lights and the thing that really stuck out was the 1956 Buick side trim and radius on the rear wheel openings, why, because my Dad had just bought a brand new 1956 Buick Special Rivera 2dr. hardtop. No chop, just a little Frenching and that Buick side trim, Wide Whites and Single Bar Flippers. Was the koolest thing I'D ever seen, now every time I check this thread, I see the koolest thing I'VE ever seen!!

There now, I feel much better already... ;) Now is it a hot rod, a custom, or a rolling junk pile.
There I am trying to dry off the track for our sprint car race. :D
