I have a few things at the abrasive blasters at the moment and have started sorting out some front brake scoops.

Cleaning up the rear end, getting some paint on.[IMG]I've also been getting a little done on the front end, but I'll put a few photos up at a later date.

Not a bad segue I thought! Steel caps, from steel cap boots, used for brake scoops....

I sold mine though. I want to do a pair again but with the smooth 39-41s not the dimpled 42-48s.

Managed a bit of scrounging today. Pulled a few parts from an early 40's ford truck. Including steering column, steering box and column drop, pedal box and booster along with accelerator assembly. I also unbolted a little brass spot light because I liked it. Huge amount of fun getting out on the hunt![IMG]I might go back and get the front end out from under it. There's also a couple of parts left on a 56 f100 that might come in handy. I would have probably dragged this pretty well stuffed flatty home but the old bloke doesn't want to let it go.[IMG]

There was the chevy chassis there buried under another pile of junk as well. It's the kind of place I could revisit a few times.

I picked up a 39 banjo and horn button for the roadster. I think it will be a more suitable look than the 40 ford wheel I was planning on using.[IMG][IMG] but I'm still not 100% sure.

It certainly is subjective and only my opinion, but I really like the look of the '39 banjo wheels.

Though the '39 is much more suitable in my opinion, ultimately it is down to your personal preference.

Fun build thread, I watched a bit early on, lately have been too busy with my own project to follow anybody else's. I really like your attitude and recycling skill! Maybe I missed it, but what are the louvered panels you used for a deck skin? They look like furnace panels? I totally dig that w/s frame, and must have missed where that came from. Lovely piece, that one. Careful in the shop with that foot...

The deck lid louvres came from some hood sides I rescued, and the windshield frame was swapped for a sectioned 32 radiator shell with insert + $200 his way. I picked the rad shell up online for $150. Windshield frame owes me $350 aussie $. the fella I purchased the rad shell off also had an early aussie tripple carb manifold, cheater heads and other parts that are on the roadster. [IMG][IMG][IMG]. We have a pretty big swap meet coming up in a couple of weeks, hopefully I'll have some parts to brag about by the end of the weekend...

Been working on the front end today. Smoothing the imperfections out of the axle and repairing the wishbone. Someone decided to attack the nut on the spring pirch with a grinder.... [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

I had fun at the swap meet over the weekend. I managed to get a toasty pair of 32 front fenders for $200(spotted another sold pair for $2,000 which made me feel good about the deal). I still plan to run cycle guards, but they give me the full fender option. Also got an f1 front drum and a 39-41 front drum to complete two sets for $35, picked up a couple more wire wheel centre caps and a pair of lincoln zephyr tail lights. As well as one more 35 wire, so I have two sets of those now. Successful weekend![IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
