I looking for some help with some old Delco-Remy distributor part numbers from 1950 to the late 1960's. Looking for something like a old Delco-Remy part catalog, the new Delco website doesn't have anything about part number for distributor parts.
Delco-Remy distributors #1112-457, #1112-643, #1112-644, #1112 647, #1112-570, #1112-583, #1112-589. Need the part numbers for the cap, rotor, condenser, and points. They do sell "generic" tune up kits for these distributors, but they are so cheap, don't last (or don't work out of the box), or fit properly. Trying to find better quality replacement parts be it Delco, or other good aftermarket name brands. Thanks
dang, my new Delco Remy specs book is from 1950, and just misses those numbers... They look like MF tractor distributors, according to google. The first few are just like the 1960s Chevy 4 cylinder (Chevy II) distributor, maybe you could look up the numbers for those? the next few look like a 4 cylinder version of the later 50s 235 six distributor. I bet if I needed to find some NOS delco parts for them, I probably could...
Yep they are old MF tractor distributors, the H.A.M.B is the only place I know where someone has to have a old Delco-Remy parts book for distributor parts. I could take chance with looking at the old Chevy 4, and 6 cylinder stuff, but with my luck they would be different in some way(s).
If you have the distributors to look at, you can compare the shape of the real parts, to pictures of the parts you're looking to replace them with.
There are a couple of tractor forums that have a lost of discussions on the MF. Why not ask the question there. Another forum that could have the answer for you, would be the stovebolt forum, that specializes in old Chevys. I have an old Echlin book I could dig out, if you think it will help. Bob
Here's a Delco Remy illustrated ignition parts catalog that might help you out. http://www.collectorsautosupply.com/DELCO.PDF
