  5. It was a ball. Lots of cool and rare cars turned out and thrashed the track. I stepped wrong and threw my trick back out and left around 1pm. Next time, I'll pack food and drinks, wear a big hat bring a chair.

WOW!!. Great event. Wish I could attend. Just you keep it all traditional. Be patient. grow slow and healthy and dont prostitute yourself with hi-end billett crap cars. He he. :D

Looks like a great turnout for a first time event. How many swap meet vendors were there?

I never saw this thread before tonight! I did see this race mentioned in another thread, the poster had his car accepted, but from what I read it looked kinda like a closed event, not open to the public. Wish I had seen this thread before or heard more about it. Next year I'll know better!

I am building a similar '28 on '32 rails and was just generally interested in the car. Mostly hoping for more pictures.

    Thanks,

Anyone know where we can see the video/pics from the drone?

  16. I'm going to have to make this next year with my daughter, I gave her her name so her initials would be RPM for oblivious reasons. She really is not hip to her name as she is NOT YET a gear head. I'm going to give her some more time to get hip to it. Looks like a good time. Mitch.

  17. Hey - anybody know if this car ran at the meet:

    upload_2017-11-6_10-27-10.png

I believe it is a car that my friend Chris Daniels (Columbus, OH) built? He sold it to somebody out West a few years ago. I helped him design/build the engine (276 cubic inch, Potvin 3/8 cam, etc). It has/had my original Harman Collins dual coil distributor that I contributed to the project - was on my first race flathead - from 43 years ago! (Antique Nats - Irwindale, CA).

Can't answer your question but it sure is a tastefully done car

  19. Yes - it was the first hotrod my friend built and he was quite a perfectionist in many small details. He didn't finish the body - wanted it like they were built in the 50's.

I was contacted by a guy in the 'Flyers' car club to see if I'd help a flathead newbie build an engine. I said . . . "maybe" . . . but only after I meet the guy and see whether or not he truly gives a crap and has the right attitude of hard work and hands-on learning. Glad that he was the right type - or I wouldn't have taken on the project. Under the cracking of my 'flathead whip', he did all the street porting and other detail work . . . the results turned out quite nice (for a street engine). Anyway, made my morning to see the car out and about . . . hopefully the guy threw some low Quickchange gears in it and made a few passes! Take care . . .

My buddy Bruce (Paintslinger / Hypersonic) was at the race - his first time out with his car (I was his flathead engine mentor :) ). I think I've convinced him he needs a "real ignition" for the next time . . . like a magneto! LOL
