Dad and I will be there. If the Cobra doesn't make it we'll bring his 3 window coupe. It may get a supercharger over the Winter!

Nice! Like those slant sixes, I've had several. Looks like a neat car, maybe we should see more of it?
They can go, alright. One and only speeding ticket I ever got was with a 225 slant six, overdrive 4-speed behind it in an O-T car.

Or, the buzzin' half dozen? :D

[IMG] this is what it did look like. Ran and drove, I was supposed to just paint it and things got out of hand. Now it has disk brakes all the way around and a ford 8 inch

I only see one problem the wheels are in the stock location lol. That's gonna be a neat car I dig it and the mccolloch blower would be ok plus you could keep most of it under the hood

Funny you guys are talking about racing a slant 6. I just picked up this 64 Dart that's been a drag car forever. I'll try to get it ready and bring it this year along with the Skai High car. The Dart has been for sale locally for a while. The owner decided to let it go in a local auction & I was dumb enough to buy it. Here is the story:
Sponsored by "Howard Taylor Dodge" San Diego, CA (Original owner "Luessen Racing Enterprises" Pasadena, CA) Raced at Lions, Orange County Carlsbad Drag Strips Raced in Bracket 3 Ran High 12's until Put in storage 1972 - 2014. Gas lines and brake lines have been replaced. Everything else is still on the car as when raced: M&H RaceMaster Slicks, Hurst Line Tires, Cragar Wheels, Hedman Headers, Hay's Electronic Ignition. Weiand Intake, Crower Cam, VDO Gauges, Monroe Shocks, A-1 Auto Trans, Arias Forged Pistons, Holley Carb, Horstman Cool Can, Deist Racing Harness, Plus Original Paint and Sponsor stickers. This car is in its original unrestored condition. A time capsule ready for a museum or your personal collection. The engine is tired and could use a rebuild.

I'm planning on being there to race again... although I'm also planning on building a whole new chassis, and a house, and a shop, and July isn't all that far away.
My 2017 Meltdown results? Broke the upper suspension mounts, which caused axle wrap, leading to a broken driveshaft and bent mainshaft in the trans. Oops.

  24. with a heavy heart I'm reporting on the loss of a regular melt down participant. brett henry was qualifying his nitro powered fuel altered [ iron mistress ] during fridays first session at the california hot rod reunion. he made it to the finish line with the chutes out and the engine off. for some unknown reason the engine refired. it went full throttle sending the car off the end of the track where it struck the barriers. severely injured he was flown to kern county hospital still alive. it was announced sunday night he passed away from his injuries. he is known better as being one of the brothers that drove the bad news plymouth and big money dodge a/fx cars. the team put on a fantastic show for the meltdown drags. his presence will be missed next year.
