Ive beat the brakes off of the search option here looking for those 37 coupes with some traditional attitude. Ive always said that the 37 fell victim to the easter egg streetrodders. And now that I own one I see it more that there isn't a lot of 37s that fit the traditional hotrod picture or so I think. So lets see whats out there. Pics PLEASE.
Nice look stock 37 you have there. You would accomplish alot just by installing a lowered front axle and rear monoleaf. I really believe that's about all Id do to your car. Oh oh.. you asked for it.
Im in the process of unstreet-rodding a 37. Shes y block powered witha 3speed and a very bare bones hotrod feel to it. Id post pics but its in 800,000 pieces at the moment
Local guy has one he's owned since '71. Matte blue, white vinyl inside. HOT SBC and a 4 speed. He scared the stuffing outta me the first time I rode in it. And then there's Fuel Pump's old black n' flamed coupe from years gone by...
Love your coupe! Just flat-out gorgeous! Also, I don't see or hear many others referring to street rod cars as "easter eggs" but I sure do given that I prefer cars in colors that are at least close to what they came with. Also, I noticed you are in Arab, Alabama. My brother-in-law owns a piece of property there but he lives in Madison-Hunstville. Would enjoy seeing your car when we go back to visit. - EM
Fritz, I believe you hit the nail on the head. During the day,, More looked like that than anything else.
This one was mine, sold it in 2012, such a lovely car, regrets I have a few, and this is one of them.!
Here's my 37. Its a work in progress. 4 inch dropped axle with 2" dropped spring, 8.8 in the rear with disc brakes all around. just installed new floorboards and am keeping the interior as clean as possible. It has a 283 that came out of my buddies 59 Impala with 350 tranny. leaving the patina as is, buffed it out and touched up a few spots. Working on getting it done by spring.
May not fit here in the typical HAMB traditional sense but in my view Ryan Reeds' 37 coupe has always been the coolest one on the planet. The car has to be seen in person to fully appreciate it!
