Saw one on Central, south of Mission in Montclair Ca.

 

I was just wondering if it was still there..

 

The drags were cool when we had classes and cars like this!
WAY slower, but WAY cooler!!!

 

The cars themselves are faster today, but the actual race is slower. I guarantee that little Crosley just pulled to the line, no burnout, no posturing, just staged and ran. I can't stand what drag racing has become and I won't even go into that outlaw street crap on reality TV.

Maybe, as Graham-Paige did with Continental, they got the engine maker to do exclusive parts for them.

Had a respray done in '64 on my '54 Ford convert. and thought it was a decent job. Can't speak to the longevity, as
I sold the car less than 2 yrs. later, but for a high school junior, it was a good value.
