  5. These Douglas Aircraft engineers proudly display their customized Rambler lunch wagon. It's many modifications included a working water faucet on the right front fender, a Ford Model A headlight mounted to the roof, and the grille lettering skillfully re-organized to spell "Mabel." Santa Monica, CA, 1966...

    :confused:Total waste of energy.
Reminds me of those POS hippie wagons where they glue shit all over their cars.
You would think their creativity could have been better applied.

    Hello,

AND... we all flew in those big planes all over the world???? Yikes, that is what a class load of pre-aeronautic engineering college majors SAID one summer when we visited Douglas Aircraft in Long Beach/Lakewood, CA. As we went down the assembly line and the workers did not know we were coming there for an official visit. Some of those workers were screwing round throwing stuff at each other.

This girl that I knew in the class mentioned that she is never flying a Douglas Aircraft, again. She was not impressed with the work ethic of those workers. We all chuckled and said that even in the auto industry, there were quality control issues. But, she said not at 36000 feet…
