Hot Rods Removing Fenders on '30 Model A?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Retson the Racer, Oct 14, 2017.

  1. Hey there! I've searches around this forum, as well as on google but cant find any results for what I'm looking for!
Is there a correct way to remove fenders?
I noticed on mine, the L shaped supports for my running boards are welded to my frame, how would I go by removing all of it?

Originally the runningboard braces were riveted. Sounds like you need to do some cutting. I'd use a cutoff wheel on a die grinder and carefully cut through only the weld.

I tool the body off mine and the fenders were still very difficult to remove. Unbolt one side of the car and jack up an inch or two, if you're removing forever, remove the supports, if you're only replacing, of course leave them on. I removed the aprons, fenders and running boards together.
