I wondered about THAT photo. The thing that made me think it was staged was the driver. He seemed to look pretty cool Sunday Driving to me to have just launched that hard...and pretty strong neck muscles as his head was not even slammed back on the rest! LOL

Give me 6 months or so and we will see if we can do one for real! LOL

Always thought building one this way would be kool. But I have had the chance to drive an orginal and a couple clones . But just like early T birds and Corvettes I don't fit in them very well. So now get going and post some pic's when you get started. Building a wheel stander Thames and a Cobra! The dragnasty must have been insured for than I thought:D! Good luck Larry

I am thinking 289...or what might have started as one. anyway. High Revving, injected small block Ford of some kind into G-Force Manual Trans etc. etc.

If you build one of the shotgun or cammer engines the spark plugs sure would be easier to get to.

Sorry that these are not hamb friendly, so remove this post if too offensive here.

As you can see, I like to have my ass wrapped in fiberglass, especially with 427 power.
Had both these 1966 models about 15 years ago. Most fun you can have with your clothes on.

    my 1966 STINGRAY AND my 1966 COBRA.jpg

At this time, I now have '67 Cobra with a 427 windsor, 550 hp. with just a single big Holley.
Here's a pic of the engine, and one of the Cobra.

As usual my parts purchase pattern is a bit messed up but I did snag these killer valve covers today to follow the theme that seems to be developing...

You gotta build a 409 Chevy Cheetah to run with him, super light with room for your new tunnel Ram.

Yeah even if he put one of my famous belt driven air cleaners on it he's gonna have a hard time making that little blue oval outrun your big inch W motor lmao I can guarantee Hooley's new W motored shoebox will put a hurt on it lol

If I build it like the Assassination car it should be easy.

Well James and Jackson you boys may be surprised. But thanks for the early smack talk motivation. LOL

You see back in the day after lots of experimenting on the chassis and HIPO parts for the 289, they managed to make the final version run mid 11s at nearly 120 mph. It was bad fast back then with 380 ponies. I think with a little help from Joe Sherman and Hilborn, we can scratch nearly 200 additional horse power out and that is still running it on pump gas! We get to experiment a bunch more with transmission gearing and we are going to ladder bar the rear with a straight 9" etc. In the day they made the independent rear work but just barely with the help of a pretty wild shock design.

So you boys better look out, I have gone over to the dark side.........and we are going to be stupid fast in the dark! LOL

    Loving this!
I have a replica that I built as a street car that I'm planning to modify to run with the local nostalgia drag racing club.

I need to remove the efi setup and put on either a carb or mechanical fuel injection and add some safety equipment.

I'll be following along with your build

Hope the woody can tow it
