If you don't do a bunch of walking you may want to start taking some walks around the block to get warmed up for SEMA.;)

Blue, make sure you get a map of the lay out of the show, figure out what you really want to see and prioritize from there. Your feet will be crying at the end of the day. But you better save some energy for the anniversary gala, congrats. dan

  5. SALTFLATS , I try to walk everyday , if you can tell below not much of a block here .
Dan , thanks . Do you go to SEMA ?
    Enloe , she is a SAINT !

Moved A out of shop to turn around and clean out the shop of all the dust . Pulled of the rear tires , headers , and doors .

Kewi , only got it between two toes so far , found two little rust through spots and had to cut one of the hinge pins up . Maybe prime on Saturday since doors took so long today and I stopped early since a cup wire brush on a grinder got me . How come it takes so long to get paint loose but only a second for skin ?
While out took a good long lock at profile and I like it . Here’s a comparison.

I've gone to SEMA a couple of times, gets bigger and better each year. Not this year though, working towards Scottsdale then line up my ducks for some trips next year. Have fun. dan

  7. Is that GOODGUYS in Scotsdale? Go all the time in my 38 pu .

  8. Took yesterday off , too sore in the chest area where the wire brush jumped into my shirt and tried to eat me and my beard up . So no paint today but got more sanding done and found some welding to be done .
Found a lot of holes without bolts and nuts . The ones on the side , even though it was spot welded , and holding the sides to the back panel were mostly missing .

Some of the safety problems . The battery was under seat and when you sat in the seat you could feel it . The wiring gets stepped on every time you move your foot . And that fuse box was probably Edison’s. LOL
When I drove the car in on Thursday the shifter came apart . Guess I did step in it . Blue

That rat nest of wiring looks scary. Considering that some of the other previous work looks half-assed I'm wondering about that wiring too. Are you going to rewire?

  13. Nice work on the chop and the tailight buckets. Wiring is one area that needs to be done right, not only for reliability but also for safety and potential fires. You'll get it worked out.

  14. New wiring ? Yes , I found some telephone wire on taillights and wiper , haven’t checked the rest .
L foot , by the way the wires look they are just pushed down like they were a foot pad . May not look like a rat , but it was built like one .
Put a few patch pieces in this morn and cut the molding for the rear glass down . 52 in the shop , taking afternoon off to watch some football.
After wife leaves for work this eve I’ll get back to it . Have just a little sanding to do before prime . Will start looking at mounts for new fuel tank so I can cut in filler spout . Blue

Hey Blue, Goodguys it is, I'll look for your pickup and pup, I'm planning on going in the COE. I feel your pain on the A, you think you step forward and you find new issues to work on. Hope you get it on the road before it gets set aside for your COE completion. Two weeks, but who's counting? dan

  19. All sanded , two little patches to do after dinner and will be ready for prime on Wednesday.
Played with gas tank today and figured out to mount and will make mounts tomorrow. Was trying to figure where to mount cap but will need to get some different hoses first . Don’t want to have to big of a bend and have a burp of gas because of it . Also want to make sure I can get nozzle in a ways .

Started thinking about rear seat and interior. Only have one molding so I will be building all of them made into side panels out of Al. Put a seat I’m building to go on a stool in the back and I can see a lot of beadrolling in my future. But first prime and paint . Blue

  20. So I was a day late getting the primer on . SANDING I HATE SANDING ! Sprayed 2 coats of epoxy primer . Looked real good , should have taken a photo . Then put2 coats of high build . I kind of use the high build as a guide coat . When I see large low spots I circle them with a pencil the take it down to epoxy and skim with some filler . And reprise with the high build and will half ass block and paint . This is a hotrod not a street rod . Blue

My state of the art paint booth . LOL I still use a conventional gun for primer . Lots of work still left . Stay tuned .

  21. Put the A in my state of art solar paint dryer today . As you can see I did the wash too. Rode my 49 HD , on the porch 35 miles to Fort Davis for catfish Friday. Took a while to get back , got of coarse by over 150 on way back . What a great day . Everyone have a great weekend and work on something . Blue

Blue, I'm really liking your front seat, might need to work on back rest though. Primer and Model A's were made for each other, that's all I've had on my '29 roadster since 1965, plus a little Johnson paste wax. dan

  24. Going to be cold at nights here all week so no painting this week . I started building the framework for the moved gas tank . It will have a 12” package tray over the tank with a hindged access to area under and behind tank . Got it about half built today . Will finish tomorrow and will post photos .

  25. Got the majority of the frame work on my fuel tank mount - package tray built . I used some left over 16&14 ga hot roll angle I had folded up for my COE .
It looks really flimsy on the work bench but once installed it is really strong . Part of it is welded up and the rest is riveted . Used my Huck gun , sure is easy . Tied into the rear and side of the body . The only bolts will be the ones on the tank .

Need to do some trimming and take some 16ga 2x2 angle and run it through my shrinker and make the corners so I have something to tie into .
Getting excited to go to SEMA on Saturday . Anyone going and want to meet up , let me know . I’ll buy the first one . Blue

  26. Waited all day yesterday for fed-x to deliver a 2 day . NOT , still not here . So without the parts I didn’t get hole for fill tube cut in . 28 degrees here today so glad I’m not painting . Leaving for , “ VEGAS BABY “ in morning so see you when I get back . Blue
