Man, I feel for your friend and hope everything turns out OK for them. We were just talking about safety on another thread and how many hot rodders are driving around without the proper gear. This may be an eye opener for everyone else. Do a check of your vehicle....can you/it survive a hit like that? If not, fix it today or this weekend...don't wait for this to happen to you. Sounds like this guy and his son were lucky to get out alive. God be with them and....oh yeah....sue the shit out of that asshole!

What raven said, the car's hardly invisible.

People drive like idiots, they're inconsiderate assholes. Nobody cares about anyone else but themselves. Most people think that once they get inside their car the road belongs to them.

I hope they get to feeling better soon. Cars are replaceable, people aren't.

    All the best.

How the fuck do you miss a loud bright green hot rod. Fucking asshole.

Hope they have a speedy recovery. Hope the kid is not too freaked out. Actually I hope the WIFE isn't too freaked out. That's bad for everyone!

    Thanks to all who replied.

Jeff is home. His leg is not broke after-all, but he has a torn ACL. I guess a brken leg would be better:(

His son, Jeffrey, is still in the hospital. He has a broken nose and several deep bruises and lacerations(sp?).

I'll tell them of your thoughts.

I'm going to take pics of the car later today.

I just went over to the shop to take some pics of the car and assess the damage. She is gonna need some work. Frame's trashed. Body is definately salvagable. Busted windsheild. The motor is probably ok. The header bolts ripped out of the left head and haven't had a chance to see if it is fixable. Tranny fluid everywhere. Dropped front axle is twisted real nice. Lots of parts for the rebuild or next guy are in tact tho. Can't touch the thing till the insurance boys fight over it. Will post the pics tomarrow since i don't have digital camera. Sorry to keep the suspense.

OMG, please tell him James sends his best. I loved that car and you know that Tim, but what makes me sick most of all is that is son was hurt. Our prayers are with him and his boy, once again, since he can't and never does get online, let him know we're praying for him and boy.

That really bums me out about his kiddo, tell him to be tuff.

I hope he knows an appraiser. It will be a fight with the other guys insurance as to what the car is worth.
Just think as long as everyone isn't hurt seriously....the ten your old boy is gonna learn alot about fabrication in the coming year and may become a new hot rodder. Trying to look for a bright side.

glad everyone was ok for the most part. even happer that the car was the only loss. cars and bikes can be rebuilt, but friends and family can never be replaced. best of wishes to your friends family and you.
