Anyone used one of those balancer/damper repair sleeves? I've got a couple of balancers, but the surface is kind of worn where the seal rides. Not sure if the sleeves actually work. or are just a"snake oil" thing?
X3, they work great and some come with installation tool. Be super careful, they are thin and bend easily.
Used them since '68 ... everyone has their own favorite installation tricks, I like using a press so it starts straight, and a sealer thinly applied.
Had one put on recently by Groucho on my Tbirds 312...worked like a charm ..wouldnt hesitate to use another one..
They work fine. You don't need a press if you don't have one handy . Just heat the sleeve up a bit on your drop light. Put the lock tite on the hub, and just set the hub on the floor .Place the sleeve on straight as you can , set a short 2x4 across it, and just lean on it hard. It should go right on.
