Even if the paint is matched now, how will it look 6 months from now? I have a truck i need to take in for repairs due to a canopy hitting it at a car show, the painter I'm considering says he can match but will have to paint The Whole cab. The paint is about 7 years old, even if it looks good now how will it hold up as time passes?

If the paint is quality stuff and the old paint was also of good quality, the match should hold up and be unnoticeable for a long time. Blended clear can burn back and become noticeable after time, so I would recommend clearing the entire panel where the work is done.
