George "Stone Age Man" Hutchesson---the only driver who was able to get that version of Rat Trap down the track.

The chassis is really just a big torsion bar to be used in gaining traction!

    Just my opinion.

  20. 20170911_155639.jpg IMG_0354.jpg Its built in the style of a altered. Its a double rail chassis. It has a straight axle and a torsion bar front end. Its running 50 plus percent nitro on the track through mechanical injection. A dual drive runs the pump and mag. It runs gas on the street by efi. The dual drive is disconnected for the street. We have stayed as close as we could to a altered or fuel coupe às we could and still have a certified car for the track while still legal for the street.

  22. It has run 8.2 on a easy pass. We were out last week ready to run a seven sec pass until we broke the block. The entire build is documented on the hamb under the rebuilding after the crash thread. 20171013_211855.jpg

Near lane is Gary Slusser's Fiat with Pat Helmick at the wheel.

As posted by DDDenney last year, this is Kenny Goodell in Don Jackson's Bantam. After the Bantam, Kenny partnered with Art Whipple on a AA/FD. He then had Ronnie Scrima and Pat Foster's Exhibition Engineering build him a flip front Mustang funny car. He passed away in April of 2010 after suffering a heart attack at age 64.

  27. The 554 racing Slusser's Fiat was at San Gabriel in '63. Larry was defending his #1 spot on the 1320 Jr. Eliminator list. The tube frame Fiat was just another in a long list of challengers that couldn't get around that heavy old steel Ford.

I am glad you found that before it came apart on you. That could have been ugly.
