I'm going to see if I can find that place the photo led to there was a story about hiding the engine due to innovative mods...I added info from source with link to site. It is an amazing pile of cool stuff right up the Hamb alley.

I think this Hotrod base is a 34 Studebaker Coupe and yes they have
very nice lines. That said I'm only assuming based on the id with pic as Stude. It looks to be pieced and contains many custom mods.

Well maybe you'd call my 34 to the below, homogenized, but I wouldn't. Why would I not? Because it does not have the always and ever present SBC in it.

If it is considered by you and some others to be "homogenized" that's just dandy with me because at 78 years of age after being involved in countless other endeavors all my life I finally built what
I really like that I have admired through those years.
That's the way I like it, hum hum, hum hum.

Hey Nochop I figure one of those two vintage racers would get you to the grocery store in a hurry...whats the story on those...Indy style racing in the Philippines? There was some vintage fish mouth style racers earlier in this thread and someone even mentioned the fish like look of the front end. Did he build those? Hotrod shop in the Philippines. US base or what? Curious minds want to know...Lots of North American Metal world wide for sure.

We are all together in this Hotrod world and this thread is open to all Hamb period Hotrods. I think the essence is to have variety in the virtual show. Your Hotrod is unique to itself and you have built it with your knowledge and other the way you want...cool.

Your Hotrod parked next to the Stude highboy, then the Philippine Racer and the vintage Jalopy Racer you can see sameness is not an issue so thread theme is met.

Got any pics of stuff from your back in the day Hotrod adventures or do you have pics of your buddies sort of oddball Erskine Hotrod (hypothetical example)?

Maybe you had Hotrods that were even more different than the one you have now.

I grew up in Late Hamb period so I only research and find stuff. I own a vintage style Hotrod now but...

    You guys lived it.

    Thanks @34Larry

This is my first true hot rod I have ever had, and yes I built it from a former street rod, (I'm told there is a difference). While rising my family and working full time I drove the usual '57, '56, '63, Chev's '71 Chevelle that I added wheels, tires, etc. to, but did not get involved in true rodding, only attending Goodguys, and cruze ins and dreaming of what I might do.. My off work life consisted of leadership roles in social organizations, and dabbling in other civic endeavors.
So my involvement was never with any hotrod clubs or members there of.
    Thanks for asking.

So @nochop what other interesting Hamb material did your Uncle get up too...stories / pics? The convertible looks to have Packard routes. Please do tell...;)

I hope you are not in harms way with that fire stuff. I see Cali on your info.

  28. Hey guys: I'm late to the party but I have an idea about this car. You see there is no upper belt line on the quarter. My theory is the rear half has been sectioned, eliminating the belt line and the cowl is next to get that treatment. I owned a cabriolet that was done that way and will try to include a pic of it here. Tim 389.JPG

Thanks Tim if something within this thread complimented your creativity that's a bonus...please do share your journey and results...I see where your going Its either extend the fwd upper belt line back or extend the aft absent belt line fwd and blend into the cowl. You are not late to the party...you are just a part of it and there is no such thing as too late...better than work...:p
