saturday, october 7, just a week away and no threads on the hamb about it? where has everybody gone?

 

Wish I could go this year. Good show for a good cause. Gotta be somewhere else that day though.

john hasn't been on here since the middle of march. he's always brought it up in past years. i hope everything is ok.

i got postcards in the mail about the show.

 

I'm going, great event , loved it last year.

 

the 7th is the first saturday which means the 8th will be the second sunday. that will be the lions car show and swap meet in morris.
when the hunnert car pile up was in morris, we could hit them both the same weekend since the pile up was always the second saturday in october. this year the first saturday and the second sunday fall on the same weekend. so if anybody is staying the night, you can blast down rt 47 to morris. it's usually a good swap.

 

This would be a good show to take your TRADITIONAL, or TRADITIONAL looking HOT ROD!

Me & my fellow Tin Butcher's are running the swapmeet section again, for you vendors, we have plenty of room, just show up Friday from noon til 5 PM, or Saturday bright and early from 6 AM til 7 AM, as the show cars line up and get in at 8 AM.
Spaces are $30.00 each, limited to only vintage parts,(pre '65 preferred) etc, ...no new parts or flea market stuff please.

 

Just ran the fallout today. We will convert it over to street trim and drive it out next week. See you all there.

 

Me, and the rest of the Lucky Stiffs, will be there again this year.

 

I will be at the gate all weekend as usual.

 

I'll be there in my 59 BelAir.

Wow . I see them for $350 and 450 sometimes, so I guess prices have gone up.
I remember when $35 got you a really nice one.

Rick , so are you saying its 50% roadster weather then? I will be there with my roadster and 50/50 rain in the morning only. Alway a cool show and one of my favorite of the year....

 

john seems to not be able to catch a break with this show. i think it's rained or snowed at least part of the day every year.

 

Aren't there any open dates in September for the McHenry County Fairgrounds? October just isn't working out. If there are no open dates in September is the only reason for not changing the dates that I can see.

 

last look at weather shows it improving. best chance of showers around 11:00 but it looks cloudy and breezy the rest of the day.

 

How has the turnout been when the weather is rough in the past?

Let's not forget to mention the howling wind that always seems to prevail and make it even a little more uncomfortable!
I think each year has seen a growth in cars and trucks, the bad weather mainly keeps the spectator count down.

 

So it rains a little, at least it will be in the 70's!

Just got home, got there late, turn out reflected the weather forecast. Got one roadster pic before it started to rain. Rained most of the way home.
