New cheapy tires and old Holley 2BBL carb from a Pinto... just drivin and figuring out that this double clutch thing actually works on old gearboxes... Still want to lower it and find some hub caps so I don't look so ghetto...

Congrats, JIM!!!! Truck looks like my F100 did 45 years ago when I found it in the alley in Santa Cruz! (CA)
...But that truck became my parts truck when I found my beautiful '55 F100 ('salvage', but before the papers went in my friend at the salvage yard sold it to me for $60. (no wheels, broken windows, smashed dashboard; but cherry body!)
My ex wife SHAT when this one (the second in 2 weeks!) rolled in behind Jimmy's tow truck, the F100's rear on dollies!
Well...the parts truck gave up everything, and it AND the ex wife were gone before Christmas! (1972)
My F100 now has SBC, 350/350, 9" rear, '58 front axle (drops it 1"!) and a long story...as do all my posts!
Bodywork then flat black primer, over and over...it's ready for another 3 coats now...after I 'roll out' a dent in the left rear. (86 BMW 'scarfed' my rear license plate, slid up my fender, not a blemish on the Beemer!)
But my 'armored' left rear fender has a 12" 'holiday', (easy fix, it will 'bump out' with my years of 'expertise'...LOL)
There is a good chance Sid has lots of Chevy A.D. axles in his stock, I'd call him! Never mind sending him yours, I think his core charge was $50. Call him, he's very helpful.
I met my REAL wife in '77, she was younger...still is. So, I have my favorite girl and truck now, still love 'em both.
Did you ever get to Vega$????

Thanks Mike - I'm doing what I said I would do - drive it, not tear it apart and spend a lot of $$$ on it...
That is not to say I didn't notice the Flat Black 3100 that was on the cover of the Summit Catalog last month - pretty sweet truck and the guy did it all in his garage - my kind of build. I would eventually like to drop a SB and some kind of Auto in mine - but then it won't be old school anymore. It's just a slippery slope... Mustang IFS, SB, 700R4, 9 inch with 4 link... where does it stop? (the answer is not very well right now with these 50 "non-self energizing" brakes !)

These dang Redneck Snow Peoples hijacked my Truck for the entire month of December! I finally chased them away with a hair dryer. Good Riddance!!![IMG]

Guilty of not reading the complete thread, love the truck.
We recently sold what we thought was a 1945 chevy, was titled as such.
The new owner later found out it was a 1942.
Seems it was a military truck, and they never did bother to title the trucks, until they sold them.
So the title said 45, but really that was the year the navy sold it.
I apologize if this is repeated.

    " shop trucks" 40s and 50s usually.
Pump out three to four per year in our spare time.
When we started , a solid truck with title could be had for around $3k.
    Those are history now.
We're lucky to find them less than $7500 for an original complete titled truck with minimal rust. Of course that drove the final cost up when we sell them but so far we still have a waiting list.
    Some people watch too many TV auctions. 20170726_135948.jpg 20171103_112804.jpg 20170102_145559.jpg 20160902_115914.jpg 20170420_133933.jpg 20160525_084807.jpg
