Years ago I built a 23 T that didn't look like a "T BUCKET" It's style and proportions were more like track roadster, it just had a T grill shell rather than a race car nose. I sure would like to see some pictures of this type of car. Bill

Limey--I've followed your post on the build and the record run--- Really enjoyed the in depth detail of how you did things and especially the seat and feet pockets---a 23 T with comfortable room. What a concept!! LOVE IT--DDDENNY and XHOTRODDER thanks for the heads up on the sites, and THANKS to all you guys for the info!!!

  10. Tom Prufer(?) built one in the mid 70's that really restarted the interest in track roadsters, at least from what I could see from here in Oz...certainly inspired me to build one using a 1600 Twin Cam Alfa/5 speed, glass 23 t body & turtle deck, imported an AI glass nose from the US..........unfortunately never finished due to life getting in the way..........lol.........maybe one day again.........andyd

Its going to get some changes to the suspension to make it more vintage. I'm replacing the front 4 bar with split wishbones, replacing the front discs with Ford drums and changing out the rear coil-overs for a cross spring and tube shocks. Then I will ship it to the UK and run it on Pendine Sands.

My coupe got in an accident. Bent the front axle, main leaf on the spring and the frame was 1' off centre between the firewall and front crossmember. All my own stupidity no one else to blame but myself. The axle has been straightened, the frame has been straightened, just need to paint and reassemble the whole front end. This takes priority over the roadster.

Not really a track T, given that it ran dry lakes in the 50's, but I figured it would be appreciated here.
(Not mine, in case of any confusion)

Martys team of track roadsters prove that a glass body can be traditionally built. His cars look right, have the right details and stance. As well as the fact that they seem to more fun with them than is really fair on the rest of us! They are just excellent.
    Cheers,
    Stewart.

You guys are too kind ! We did have a lot of fun with those cars. I used to say, I started with a Speedway fiberglass body, and some rusty junk, and other than the cost of a good flathead and a quickchange, they are cheap to build. I will be starting a complete build thread on one of my standard roadsters real soon, on a car for a buddy in Delaware. Fast Lane track-t's 025.jpg Fast Lane track-t's 008.jpg

Dean, I can't realistically start on the RPU until I deliver Pat's car in late January. The weather was nice yesterday, so I rolled the Spalding outside. The next roadster build is for a customer, I need to stay somewhat busy. IMG_0712.JPG

It was in couple of magazines I think, but not 100% sure. Had magazines on the seat when saw it.

Here's mine....not in same league as most on here. But it's been a fun project, hope to finish body work and interior this winter.

  29. I would say it's in a pretty good league. I really like the narrowed A shell and the headlight placement.
