This will be the third (I think) reincarnation of the workhorse I have been using since the mid 80s.
With a lot of work I made it beautiful once, then ruined it by taking it on the salt too many times, and now am currently freshening it up again to keep it going as a daily fun driver.
My kids grew up with as a daily family car, with a rear facing seat with seat belts in the bed, going to all their soccer and football games, shopping, sledding, picnics, etc. They preferred the Stude truck or the Hawk over the other cars :)
It became a family tradition to take it to the Newport Indiana Hillclimb every year. It was not eligible for any competition class, but we ran the hill a few times for the fun of it.
It is evolving into a mild 4wd at present.
And it has never had any Brand X engine in it, ever.
I drove it cross-country several times with the smokey flathead six, then in the late 80s I put in a Studebaker Lark 259v8 engine that I had been using in my 55 coupe since I pulled it from a 140,000 mile 62 Lark in 1974, and have worn out 4 speedometers since.
Thru the 80s and early 90s I regularly ran it to the Indy Good Guys Hot Rod Happening, Wentzville, and Nashville to help some buddies drag race.
Trips to Denver and to Daytona were not uncommon, in addition to daily use carrying remodeling supplies and firewood.
I have NO IDEA how many miles that adds up to.
It is still licensed and used regularly, and is getting freshened up again as we speak :)

    why be ordinary?

First Mockup.jpg One I've been tinkering with since this past winter. Finally got it on the chassis. Lots to do still. Wheels are just for mockup.

1954 Mainline, 223 3 speed. Really straight and clean, recovering from back surgery so the progress is slow, but getting there....

The English car is a 1954 Austin healey. It is sitting in a chromoly tube chassis, with all corvette suspension and a 1963 corvette 327, 4 speed. The car has been a race car since the late 50s. It's a little off topic, but it is truely a hot rod.

  14. My next project is still patiently awaiting it's turn while being buried with junk as each year passes!

I have owned the '65 pickup since the early seventy's and removed the inline six and 3 on the tree and installed several different V8's and a 4 speed transmission,I repainted it the original color black and wrecked it two days latter.

I de-chromed the custom cab and all the trim, filled the holes and added flames,I drove it until the last 302 blew a head gasket and just decided to build something else and it has sat a lot longer than I had intended.

I have a few things to do to my running hot rod fleet this winter but I hope to drag the truck out of the barn and get started on it after the first of the year,as for how long it will take will be determined by what I do and of course finances.

Most likely it will be a simple build with the normal rust repair.

It looks pretty sad right now. HRP

Looks like it had its tail bobbed but what year is it? 36ish Ford? I particularly like it for some reason.
Maybe because it looks like it needs saving so bad;) Good luck! I will be lookng forward to seeing what you do:)

35.....I guess the trunk and tailpan was donated to another project. I'll have to make a new one. Gonna be an early custom build pretty much for sure on that....

I'm currently in the "parts gathering stage" of my latest project. Ordered the chassis at Pete and Jakes 3 weeks ago. Ordered the '32 5 window body at New Age Motorsports 2 weeks ago. Got the tires and wheels last week and picked up a new Walker radiator. Have the C4 tranny rebuilt and the 302 mocked up to figure out motor mount measurements. Should have the chassis in 4 or 5 weeks and the body some time in the spring.
