Hey everyone. I have this Nice Edmonds Intake that I found in a scrap pile. Fortunately for it: I saw it and saved it from the depths of earth. Can anyone tell me what it fits? I was thinking 50's/60's era. Maybe BOP or Cad? Dunno. I don't recognize it for any of my Nailhead stuff. Thanks!
That port layout looks like a Lincoln Y-Block as well. I am not versed in the BOP stuff from GM, but I guess the big Lincoln Y-block and Olds J2 port configuration is almost identical. Dual Quad M-335 Intake for comparison.
That is wild how similar this looks to the Y block manifold you posted! One thing I did notice is the port size on the Lincoln looks taller. It could be for sale. I would like to ID it for sure before I consider that possibility. I don't want to false advertise if possible. I had originally considered keeping it and building an old boat around it but I've got enough projects for the short term future to keep a tech school busy for a decade. Thanks for all the help guys! Looks like this could be an Olds or Lincoln.
The earlier Olds Edmunds dual intake had the web construction or the hollower body. Check the port sizes to make sure it is either 303 or 324
Paul: just saw your earlier post on a previous thread on port diameters. Thanks for the info! Looks like 303/324 will measure tonight. Y blocks appear to have most of the water ports on the front versus the top of the manifold.
Seems odd that Edmunds would cast a 2x2 for an engine as big as the Lincoln, I'd think their Lincoln intake would be thirstier than that, but that's just a WAG.
Lincoln was only 317 CID at first. Not a lot different from an early Olds. This one is a 363 inch version. If nothing else, they sure had pretty valve covers.
Jeez, who's scrap pile did that come off of? People are still throwing shit like that away?! Damn. Glad you were there to save it.
Probably someone on one of the "reality" shows on Velocity Channel- they throw out all kids of usable stuff to make their $85K builds...
Alright gentleman! Port size 1 1/8 wide by 1 1/2 tall. looks like 324 olds! Thank you all for the help. I will post this for sale soon. As far as the scrap pile goes. Guy purchased a lot; didn't know what it was!
measuring some of the heads laying around here, and these are aproximate numbers, castings vary slightly and gaskets will be a touch bigger typicaly as may aftermarket intakes 303, 1-1/8 x 1-5/8 324, 1-1/8 x 2 early 371, 1-1/4 x 2 late 371 and 394, 1-3/8 x 2-1/2 You have an early Edmunds 2x2 cast before the 324 came out
