Hey Hambers. Complete novice here so please bare with me!
Asking on behalf of a friend not on here and for my own personal knowledge bank.
We have a stock 59 390 cad. He is wanting to fit a factory tri-power manifold.
The manifold fouls hard on the distributor.
I did some googling and from what I've found, you need an entire new distributor from a factory tri-powered car.
    Can anyone please confirm this?
I have also read the distributor caps are not interchangeable? An entire assembly is needed?
Any help on this topic will be greatly appreciated.

    It will fit.
    Re-clock the distributor.

Hey mate, that was one of the first things we tried (second was filing down the little knob on the end of the manifold) and it still fouls hard against the manifold.
    Surely the answer isn't "fit a distributor assembly from a d factory Tri-Powered 390" ?! haha

I believe the pre 1957 distributer is smaller in overall diameter and might work.
Check online and see if a '55-56 distributer will work on a '59 390.
