Great work! I had the same problem, lack of clearance. Was worse with the 59AB, and a little better with the 8BA. Don't know why and how people make this fit without cutting the firewall

  5. Was able to get the radiator mounts roughed-in this weekend. Just need to pull everything apart and paint it all black.

  6. Had a little time to fiddle with the car so I decided to make my radiator H.A.M.B. Friendly.

Also did some trimming of my radiator mounts so that they are a little more hidden when the grille shell is on

Damn petcock is interfering with grille placement. Not the end of the world though.

  7. So this last weekend I finally finished the mounting of the body. Plans are to run it this season then maybe re-address it this winter when I do some rust repair.

Got my upper radiator hoses all figured out

  11. Also got my throttle pedal situated. I'm guessing I will need a bit more adjustment once I get the last piece of linkage in and install my toe board (that way I can make sure the gas pedal is as ergonomic as possible.

  13. Rad hoses painted and some throttle linkage

Pedal is a later v8 unit, the linkage I got from Berts is the timing linkage from a stock model a, bent and cut/shortened then threaded with a 10/32 die to work with a coupling I had maying around.

  14. For the record I think I'm gonna need one of those doghouse/cup holder combos from an economize van to cover up all this motor/trans. There's probably no way I'll be able to utilize the old toe board even temporarily

  15. Guess I should update this just for the hell of it.

Car is running and driving, wired it a few weeks ago, was running kind of choppy under load so I ordered a delco distributor from bubbas...best $300 I ever spent. Here are some pics

Love the build, have read it front to back twice now, keeps me motivated to stay on mine. The fan set up, is that just stock 8BA parts? my motor didnt come with a fan so Im sorta trying to understand what I need.

  21. Thanks everyone, lindy the fan is stock stuff, shouldn't be too hard to find.
Binger I will absolutely be at the hill climb, have been thrashing to specifically make that event.

Just went through your thread again and saw you had the same idea about moving the radiator forward as I was thinking today. I reckon 1.75” will do it for me.

How high is your door window and windshield openings? I read you have a 5” chop but it seems like you have okay visibility through the windshield. Mine seems to chopped too much and I don’t know what to do with my windshield posts to make it drive able.

    Looks great!

  28. Thank you man. I like the chop, I'd have to measure the window openings but I still have to hunker down since I have my stock seat. Not too bad though. I think your supposed to be all lurched forward in a chopped car anyway

Such an awesome car man! I looked at it for a while at the hill climb! If you dont mind me asking do you remember how much it was to have your drums relined? A guy here wants 280 a drum and I wasn't sure if that was out of line or pretty typical?
