Don't know where you are at but there is a Chrysler 331 poly engine with auto trans on our local c list. Maybe not traditional in the strictest sense, but from the right gene pool. But 250 HP and 330 lb.ft stock makes for interesting numbers.

It's a 413 Chrysler he's wanted those intakes since before he had me haha 727 trans behind that. It is channeled the height of the little sill/rocker on the car. I've only got a few on my phone

How much did you have to stretch the rails. Did you guys do that yourself our have them made. Adding a section to some new rails makes me nervous. Thanks for all the info.

No way I'd chop a 33 Plymouth coupe. I looks as if it came chopped from the factory. Any further chopping ruins the cars proportions. Those I've seen chopped are way Fugly. Not every car needs to be chopped. Especially a 33 coupe. I also believe 33 Plymouths do not lend themselves to being Highboys. There's also nothing wrong with the original frame.

The pictures 31dodger posted is what I think a 33-34 Plymouth or Dodge should look like. A well proportioned car, with no chop, bumpers and fenders. Why destroy such a great looking car? It takes just as much time, money and effort to build an ugly car then a good looking one.

On my 33 PD (long wheel base) coupe I utilized a Mustang ll front end and a Nova rear end. It was a super driving car.

Your car, your money, your choice. Just my opinions.

I ran across this one for sale online a while ago, and tried to contact the seller, but they did not return my call, then short time later they posted that it was sold. In the meantime I was making all kinds of plans of what I would do with it, and basically those plans were to leave it pretty much alone, to clean it up, adjust the stance a little to get the front end down slightly, and to leave the original flathead 6 in it and play with some vintage speed equipment for that, like a 2 x 2 intake, split exhaust, etc. I wanted to leave it as traditional as possible; at least for awhile, then who knows, a small hemi swapped in might've happened some day. But really, I dig this shit out of this thing just about as it is.

I wouldn't chop it, it already has a chopped look going for it, I can't see the payoff for all the work involved being with it.

Damn, still bums me out that I missed it.

 

I have a '33 coupe also. I'm looking for a nice set of front PD fenders for it. If any of you guys are going to take a set off give me a shout.

I'm with ya, if I found one that complete, it would get lowered and maybe a split manifold and some dual carbs. Then drive the wheels off it

Blues, Man I feel your pain, that could have been a very cool keeper car. I also have been looking for a 30's Mopar for a long time. I like your plans for that car, but me and since I have a couple of spare 392 Hemi's that would have been the way to go for me. Maybe next time.

Very nice looking ride. I might lower it 1.5 to 2" in the front, but it is really nice.

We saw this Burgandy Coupe at the Roadster Show in June, it was a runner. Glad it sold, hope it stays as is for a while.
