Thanks Rocker. Its running real good. I'm still breaking it in. I only have about 100 miles on it yet. Hope to get some paint on it some time. No hurry I guess. Been bare metal for about 5 years now. How's your banger truck doing? Do anything new to it ? Good to talk to you again Rocker. Take care. Bob................

  14. Checking in, before take off to DSRA Nats: [IMG]
The Ole-Henry has been running real rich lately, which is why, rear wheel is so blackened. Dunno if it the electric fuel pump or eco-friendly gasoline, but something seems to have ruined the Weber carb- used to run twice it's current gas milage... another project for the winter, I guess!
    At least, he's running!

Boxing myself in, with Peroid Correctness, I agonized over keeping the car pre-war parts only.
I have chosen to go with modern tube shocks. After having the stock model a shocks and friction shocks over the years I cannot believe how good it rides now.
I used some 1949 ford rear Houdille tube shocks, now I can say my A is all pre 1950 parts.

uhoh, looks like you have floaters, maybe not all... but you are right, you can still say it
in my car the driver isn't pre 50's just barely
besides safety upgrades don't count in my mind you get a pass

New to bangers but got started working on mine fineally. Got all the studs out and pulled the head to find 100 over pistons. It showed great compression before but its getting a good cleaning all new gaskets and paint plus a police head downdraft zepher intake 97 carb a dizzy from bubbas and finned aluminum valve cover. I also have a t5 and adapter that may find its way in eventually. 20170902_200503.jpg 20170902_200417.jpg 20170902_200404.jpg

I started buying helmets 40 years ago. They all have wonderful stories. Many I have used over the years.
Bill..... There are times when I am "Alki fueled" too. A glass of dry red wine lowers my blood pressure.

I'm still not getting thread UPDATES so sorry for the late comment timing.

I am excited about the new space. It is a wide 3 cars and about 2 1/2 cars deep. I will fill it up quick I imagine. The best part is that is 7 houses down the block to my other work shop. It will be nice to make extra working space and get a couple of things out of the weather.
