  3. Another "fun fact" about Pete McManus:

    In addition to campaigning this bitchin' flathead dragster in 1964-65 ... and purchasing the famous "Bill Woodard/Neal East" full-fendered Deuce Roadster:

    ... from Bill Moeller in 1968, Pete once owned the famous Fred Carrillo #17 Modified Lakes Roadster that graced the cover of the July 1952 HRM:

    In the 1980s, HAMBers @Rich Venza & @frank morawski purchased the car from McManus.

    Frank spent several years restoring the car in his Maryland home garage ... and was honored with an invite to show it at the 2010 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance ... Soon-thereafter, Morawski's restored version of the Carrillo #17 Roadster graced the cover of another magazine (i.e., @J.Ukrop's current employer):
