Butch, I know he appreciated all that you guys did for him and his wish to fulfill a dream with this slingshot. He was blessed as you all were in the end. God Speed Butch!

Reading this thread on your build the recreation of a Chassis Research chassis brings back some memories of 1958 or 59 at George Field Il. some guys from the Louisville Ky.area had a Chassis Research. car with a Olds in it, and I fell in love with it.Fast forward 50 years at the Washington In. car show and some guys with a 48 or so Ford PU for a tow car and a open trailer with a machine like yours on it. Memories coming back so as I got closer I thought shit man this is the same car from 50 yrs. ago and it was. Sane paint job and body with a 1961 Indy Nationals sticker on it. The owners had bought the car from the origional owners and preserved it.

You guys built one butchin' machine and you gave a friend the ride of a lifetime ( actually several)! I know you are all proud, but saddened by Butch's passing. What a Thrill it must have been for you all, thanks for sharing your journey.

What a story and boy did he have some awesome friends! You help restore my faith in humanity.
Your friend passed away with a dream fulfilled that without you wouldn't have happened. That is simply awesome.
Sad news of his passing and deepest condolences.
You all were and still are blessed to have been friends!

We are working out the details, but that is exactly what we plan on doing. We will all relive that day through the car.

I never thought that the battle at the hill would be the last time I got to hang out with Butch. I have known him for 30 years and will miss him greatly. Duck tail won't be the same without him.
    God speed my friend.

What a great thing to do. He may be gone but we all know what you guys did for him. If everyone would do things like this for each other .

What a noble cause and a really cool car too. Makes me want to drag my 102"er out of the pile.

  23. That six is at least a 292"(+ probably a big stroke) truck block o_Obecause the distributor & motor mount locations are swapped from the 250" and smaller sixes - Hurrrray for the Sixes!!!!!
