It was warm and there was a great turn out of vintage hot rods and drag racers.

Thank you Alan for putting this on, what a great thing you have done.
I had an absolute blast, hanging with friends, bumping into others I rarely see, meeting new ones.
Running the roadster down the track for the first time was a hoot, sure learned a lot about the car, like just enough horsepower means nothing if you can't get it to hook up!
My one leg quickchange may look cool and it was nice being able to run highway gears getting there and swap to track gears in a blink, but having one tire burn outs and launches were not so cool.
I actually mowed the grass on my second time out!
No harm done but if this car is going to get serious it better get two wheel drive!

I've been watching this event on YouTube for the past several years but my dad (Rod Jones) and I finally made it over there this year and it did not disappoint! What an awesome event. We didn't break the track record of x31 passes in a single day, but maybe next year. We're making it an annual trip now. Anyone that hasn't gone yet, go! Just an awesome collection of first rate cars and fantastic people. See ya'll next year.

Heard that saying the first time when I was in my twentys and still get a laugh out of it.
This event is nearly in my backyard and somehow have still not made it up there, gotta go next year, hope Rocky brings the twin back.

Thankyou for posting a great lot of images. I loved the look of the metallic brown '40 Willy's pickup.

Dang, what one misses when he works Sundays. Somehow I also missed when it was going to be and probably could have asked for the day off.
I've seen that old Ramchargers car at the Portland Roadster show a number of times and it is great to see a photo of it making a pass on the track along with all the other great photos in the bunch.
Next time around I should be retired and keeping better track of the calendar.

  20. Nice write up in the September Hemmings Muscle Machine magazine of this C Deuce.

Cus and swear! @#$%&^!&*(.)!!! I was really planning on going to this years event, but a certain English Ivy abatement project I've been working on for 2 summers now has taken all my fun time away from me. Maybe next year? I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
