Found this a few months ago... Pretty cool set-up. Still need to research the car to find more info. That's the fun part, and I haven't even started yet!

1930s era Gilmore Gasoline periodicals they put out called the "Cub". This particular one has some neat salt flats stuff in it, which is pretty early salt flats racing history....

Last one for now.... Scored these at an auction. I don't know ANYTHING about them, but they really rang my bell. These are really old, and the paint is all crackled and weathered. I'd guess they're from the 1950s or earlier. They are obviously done by an amateur artist, but to think someone clear back then had these images in their head and painted a couple streamliners ripping across the salt and the beach. Pretty cool stuff!

Awesome stuff! One day maybe I'll get serious enough to have a car as part of my collection, but that's after my 3 girls are all growed up.

A few of what I display. Banners are pretty rare and I have more. Some of the motel post cards show up even so often. Enjoy IMG_1383.JPG

Thx, missed the word pennants. One of the prize post cards is the inside of the Western Cafe. It's in the center line. Wife and kids would be waiting there for me to come off the salt so we could eat dinner in the 70's. All the great photos were there hanging right at the tables.

I didn't realize just how much "draw" on the carb the blower created. Went like snot to about 140 and leaned out (as you can see) real bad. I bought a Hilborn injector set up. Don Enriquez said it won't lean out. I trust Don.

Meant to add Dean that this year is the 80th anniversary of the Road Runners. We had some of the cars at El Mirage yesterday and had a photoshoot.

  23. I bought the shirt Bill! If Don set up your injector, you'll be fine.

Bonneville, I’ve never been there, but this guy has many times. He tells his stories like they were yesterday. Preparing the car, buckling in, starting the engine, leaving and shifting gears, the noise, pushing the car to its limits, trying to keep it straight on the salt, and then pulling the parachute. I can only imagine how cool it must have been. You guys that have been there and done it are some lucky bastards.

Bill Snyder set more than a dozen land speed records driving various Thermo King owned or sponsored diesel powered race cars and trucks. He was the 1975 Bonneville “Person of the Year”, is a member of the Bonneville 200 MPH Club, and is in the Guinness Book of World Records.
