Trying to figure out what this is, I love the look and want to chop it 2-3 inches. They did a good job cutting out the front doors, got a few parts with it also like windshield, but need much more. But what is it a Studebaker vs Gardner I just don't know.
Starting to remind me of the old style short track modifieds body. Looks like this one could be a lot of fun.
after checking out your find, I got a card from my sister... thought it fit your car... happy birthday everyone whatever your day.
1928 Gardner , Thanks Apenaut your photo shows the back lines are like the Studebaker not this. The visor with the car I did not show in the photo is like the Gardner. 1928 Gardner
This was a 4 door sedan, the front doors have been removed and only the rear doors are on the car now.
Apenaut Your profile says LA but I have never seen a view like that there. Beautiful can in an beautiful background. Went to a show last weekend and this Buick came pulling in. Yours is much better laid out.
Sorry - that one's not actually mine! I found that picture a few months ago while doing some research for my 29 President. My car doesn't have a body (the previous owner kept it because HE needed a 29 President body). I looked at a lot of options, including a shortened '31 that was listed for sale here on the HAMB (I'll try to find that pic too). I finally settled on a 23/24 Studebaker Light 6 phaeton body that's coming to me next week from Montana. I plan on building a roadster pickup with it.
Start reading the old Modified Murray build thread, one of my all time favorites, too bad it got stalled. Bob. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/modified-murray-the-last-build-thread.956908/
I like this car a lot, I don't usually like 4 doors turned into 2 doors but this little car has a lot going for it.
Here's the 31 that was for sale on the HAMB and the link: https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/1931-studebaker-hot-rod-rat-rod-project.1002432/
