Looks like an updated version of the Banker Bros. three window that was in Hot Rod Magazine in about 1961 or so.
    That's traditional enough for me.

More traditional than half the cars at the HAMB drags last weekend.

Regardless of what ever anyone wants to call it, it's a damn fine build.

  12. A beautiful car is a beautiful car. A "street rod" can't be traditional? Street rods were around in the 40's. They were just called hot rods before Tex Smith and Tom medley coined the term street rod. My current RPU is a street rod, by the standards set forth by the hot rod police. I try hard to give a shit, but I can't. You see, my car, how ever you label it, makes me happy when I drive it, so I could care less what the narrow minded call it.

An amen for Dean! That is one damn nice 32 I don't care what you call it. The 63-65 Rochester FI unit is the icing on the cake!

  18. Nice car, what ever you want to call it. Other then the dumb bra, I would say its mostly traditional, or maybe a resto-rod.

That's traditional for a kid that had his 50th high school reunion last week.
    I have a 3 window & I have a '64 F.I. & a T10 4 speed. I need to put them all together & have the traditional car of my dreams.

TIMELESS is the term for that car.. it would have looked good in the early 60's and it will look good after we are all dead and gone.

  23. From what has been posted it looks very nice to me but the use of ''traditional''. All era's of Rods have a tradition, it means the builder followed a tradition like its been done before and followed by others. I doubt my RPU is that traditional as It doesn't have a side valve V-8 and a 32 grille shell but I do feel its period inspired.
I would like to see more of that 3W as its still a beautiful car. JW

It is a gravel parking lot & you know how those hot rodders like to spin the wheels.

  25. Not in my opinion. The stance, wheels, tires, bra... It's an extremely nice car either way but what can I say, look at the heap I drive.

  27. Beautiful car..whatever anybody wants to label it as.

If the paint on my cars were as nice as on that car, I would run a bra to..no, no, I wouldn't.

Did I spot a bumper cover, in addition to the bra and grille screen?..Oh my.

  29. I don't know why I'm even buying into this but...

Cars have been stripped, modified and raced all over the globe since the beginning.

Cars stripped and raced on the dry lakes of SoCal are what became known as 'hot rods' (after a few other names didn't stick around long enough.) Many of the same guys also participated in the 'roaring roadsters' fad on the west coast after the war too, so that was a short lived regional form of circle track, a bit different from where you are coming from I think.

So, we could all use Google images and find old pics of cars stripped and modified for racing from all over the world, but ancientness does not make them hot rods, traditional or otherwise.
