Was this the Doctors second Pebble Beach win? I think he redid the Beast III and won the same time as Don Ferguson with the Miller Lakester,,, I think
You just single-handedly ruined the thread for me. Nothing could top a photo of Ed, Gene and Ed's Roadster. You might as well just close the thread now.
I saw the "Reactor" just before it was in the last auction at the old Harrahs collection in Sparks. It looks a LOT better now. Eds Roadster is still one of the all time classics.
Actually it's Dr. Mark (@mrbhotrod) Brinker's third "win" at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. (As you mentioned) his 1952 Chet Herbert "Beast III" Streamliner took 2nd place in Class U (HOT RODS: Lakesters and Bonneville Racers) in 2010: ... and at the 2012 event, his 1953 Mameco-Ardun Glasspar G2 took home the prestigious "Dean Batchelor Trophy":
Citroen DS chassis and Corvair flat 6? wow...I drove a Corvair around Monterey (actually Seaside) and there was a DS there, too. Got to look it over and talk with him several times, and follow it down the highway for a stretch. Neat stuff, hope to see more pics!
