hello im just starting a my 33 ford pickup build, my question is ill be using my full bed and rear fenders, what width rear end will fit nicely under it and sit in my fenders properly thanks for any help

A ford 8" looks good (no back cover plate) and will handle close to 400HP. One out of a Granada is around 53" backing plate to backing plate and one out of a 67 cougar or mustang is around 58" I believe.

Before I suggest a modern rear end I would like to ask the "theme" of the truck? My 4 cylinder Chevy II powered AVATAR has a '32 rear end. If I was building your truck with a flathead, a Model B banger, or a 4 cylinder Chevy II I would definitely use a '33 rear end. With a powerful late model engine I would definitely go to a later rear end. What engine do you plan? Charlie Stephens
we used to use mavericks... but if you find one, you should look close they have been sitting around for 30 years... bought one, the backing plates were rusted off... had a wider cougar, bent housing... I would consider new housing, axles and brakes... IMO.
What wheel style / type / bolt pattern are you contemplating? Adn what other drivetrain mods are you planning? Rebuilding the stock rear with later juice brakes is an option.
