Technical Electrical problems

    can anyone help me find this part , I'm having trouble finding it and knowing what's it called , it's hooked up on the firewall

    thank you! is the horn relay connected to just the horn ? because i have a buddy thats working on my vehicle and told me that the horn relay is the problem and the vehicle wont start does it have to do anything with the horn relay?

    Is this horn relay for a 6 volt system? If so, if you can't find an OEM relay, I would just substitute a BWD R102 relay, they can be purchased for less than $20.

    The R102 is a generic 3 prong relay that eliminates the ignition switch prong shown on the original one.

    it looks a lot like the starter relay that is used on newer Chrysler Corp cars, doesn't it?

    Maybe the guy working on your car doesn't know exactly how your old car works.
     
  11. Unless someone picked off the ignition feed from the horn relay, it shouldn't have anything to do with the system. (that fried terminal on the front which used to be made of brass or copper).

    It could be replaced with something like this[​IMG]

    It has the positive and negative terminals to control the relay and is rated at 100 amps continuous duty. It's over kill but it will do the job the same way the one you have does.
