Anybody know of any other pictures of his roadster that was featured in the Octber 1954 issue of Hot Rod? I have looked at it so many times my magazine is falling apart.
With the passing of Mr. Kraft (on January 17, 2009), I thought it was only fitting to revive this thread ...
Undeniably incredible! And always a great inspiration for sure. Does anyone know what happened to that car?????
There were two cars built, I remember an article in the late 80's or early 90's about them in Rod & Custom. The other one had kelsey wires I believe. I'm pretty sure the red & gold one is still about as I've got a recent pic of it from somewhere. I vaguely think that Ron Fornier had something to do with its resto. I'd love to see more recent pics if anyone has them
Spoke with Dick a couple of months back on this subject. The last he know, the red one is still in California. It has been long rumored that the second car is somewhere in Anderson, IN, but no one seems to know where. When I questioned Dick on this (as I good friend of mine has been looking for the car for some time), he could only remember that the last he recalled 'the blue car' was in Indiana but he did not know where. If anyone has any additional info on either car, please post.
3rd Gen Hot Rodder: Here is another thread on this car. The Ingels (blue) car was wrecked years ago and only the nose remains. Kraft's red car was restored by Ron Fournier for a customer and was in Detroit as of a few years ago. The Pat Ganahl article in the Oct 92 gives extensive details. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=268051&highlight=norm+crum
