  7. Did we ever get into what all was wrong with that sedan body?

Compared to the pile of crap Rockne I have sitting here, it's like a new car.

The answer to your question lies in the thread, put to rest by Ryan himself. Read the thread.

  13. That's one of the biggest problems I see with the HAMB. Guys who see something in the first post of a thread and reply without reading through the whole thing. Especially on an old thread.

I said that last week about a guy who needed help with ideas on a frame, he was told by a friend a s10 would be good. Before he could learn what would be better the HAMB police deleted the thread.

He can find hundreds of other sites that cater to S-10 and beyond. This place does not owe anyone anything.

So what your saying is that with all the talent and knowledge on the hamb ,somebody could have come up with something better than a s10 swap. See I got what you were saying because I felt that I owed it to you and the rest of the hamb to read and understand your post before I commented:),

S-10 swaps have become the cure all for those who can't figure out things on their own. They have their place and that is where you have no frame at all as you started with a bare cab or your frame is so damaged by wrecks, rust or engine swap hacking that it isn't repairable. I'd much rather have a good stock frame with a decently modified suspension that every thing fit right on and I didn't have to spend more time getting the sheet metal lined up on than any other part of the build.

ELP, I admire you for taking on this abortion. You have most certainly saved someone life. Mr. Funk or others. If it were me, I would have taken the entire thing apart and on every garbage day some pieces would be out for pick up until eventually it all went away. BTW, I'm really impressed by your fabrication skills.

  25. El p, you have saved numerous lives with your engineering and fabricating skills: The owner, the"hatchet" and numerous innocent bystanders along the highways and bi-ways of America. In the military you would receive a medal for valor; here a simple "atta boy" will have to suffice and a "thank you" from the motoring public.

The reason I am saving money at this moment to spring for one of his Dakota Crossmembers for AD Chevy trucks. I've looked at this, bought one of those (minus a lot of parts) got a Hoffman group universal crossmeber and tube control arms that I bought off Ebay at a weak moment of brain cells (That I would make someone a deal on) and backtracked more than I have gone forward. If things work the way I want I'll retire in the middle of Janurary and spend most of the next year in the new and somewhat smaller shop I have in the plans.
I thought this thread was dead and buried never to be seen again and it got dug out of the archives again.

Nice work Steve, I recall seeing this vehicle in your shop when you were about to get started.
It has come a long way now.
