Yea, but they weren't 'vintage' when that picture was taken, circa '66. They were rocket ships at that time. And you could go to the showroom on Monday have your pick! :D

I believe the second car is a Muntz Jet.

Maggie, Maggie, Maggie. You were inches from a clean getaway. :p

Admittedly, the modern font on the sign was what caught me at first - and the signs back then usually said "service station" or just "service" rather than "gas station", didn't they?
Good job, though - looks like you had everyone else fooled! :)

  11. I'm usually way better at catching it - it was late I was tired is all I can say. The station is definitely vintage (I did post real photo of it back in the day sometime back)... The sign is photoshopped too.

Maggie, You posted this picture a few years ago, and I saved it. The corner where it was taken from is now an ice cream shop. They have Friday night gatherings on the street in front of the shop, a nice group of Hot Rods and classics show up. I printed an 8x10 of the photo and framed it for the owners. Hibbert's Grocery is now a parking lot, the shop owners appreciated getting to see what it looked like. Thank you for posting ! Edit- Dayton Oregon 1939 Dayton,Or. 1939.jpg
