Your interpretation of the stories behind these ads are much more entertaining than the ads themselves. But I think you missed the underlying story in this Chevy ad.

It says "A happy choice for those who practice thrift". There's a man in jodhpurs standing next to the car with his golf bag. Being a golfer there's a good chance that he's Scottish. Do you suppose Chevrolet is trying to tell us something about the spending habits of Scotsmen?

Yes, The story.....Lassie go tell the sheriff that Mary and Timmy were kidnapped by a couple driving a new Chevy Fleetline.

I never knew he was a kidnapper. Man you can learn a lot here! I went back and added stories to some of the Chevy adds.

 

All I can say is, WOW! I have been looking at this thread for a couple days and I am only 17 pages into it. I have some pics to share but I don't wan to double post. However, I gotta believe the pics below have not been posted by anyone. I hope you deem them worthy.

These asian Indian ads are wonderfull. Asia lettering is a graphic style on its own.
