1. Now Hoffmann (closeoutautoparts) have "Heavy Duty" stamped deuce rails on the auction sight. Crate in the picture looks like the same one that Gearhead's Chinese rails are packed in.

I could almost swear that several of the Hoffmann group products were at sema this past year. I am almost positive I saw American Shifter, Helix and something else. I even think "Hoffmann Group" was on a banner in a booth. I even commented to my buddy.

They've infiltrated about every branch of the Street Rod World! They are advertising in NSRA Street Scene, also are there as Vendors for many events if not all. So them being at SEMA doesn't surprise me. It's buyer beware!

Just wondering after reading all these different posts has anyone compiled a complete list of their different companies?

Thanks Jimbo

The thing that surprises me is this thread has gone on for years and their company list keeps growing?? They keep expanding? How?

Once bit, twice shy, look like there is a lot of "once bit" folks to go. Also a lot of car "flippers" probably use them then put them up on eb*y

A year or so ago I ordered a set of ignition wires from Shoe Box Central. When I contacted Shoe Box to see why they hadn't been shipped I was told they were being shipped direct from the supplier. Long story short they never showed and wouldn't even return calls to Shoe Box. Shoe Box refunded my money no problem but I was out a couple of weeks waiting for parts that never came. Long story short I had no idea that the wires were coming from Hoffman or I never would have placed the order. Point is that just because you are ordering from a reputable vendor like Shoe Box you might be getting stuck with Hoffman parts.

13.

But Carid is selling Helix stuff; just goes to show you have to pay attention to what you are buying, even from regular vendors. I'm guessing they need to take up selling this stuff to be competitive. There are a lot of people that buy on price alone.

14. Like anything you buy, you need to be aware of what you are buying. Many retailers, regardless of the product, sell both quality and price oriented items.

I purchased a universal electric window kit from Welder Joe which was supposed to fit my F100 and a range of years.
Boy, not even close, my doors would have looked like Swiss cheese and they still would not have fitted.
I hassled the hell out of them and now wear with pride my badge of honour, being band from purchasing any other items from Welder Joe.
How lucky am I.

They seems to have several ebay outlets, with most of them already listed on here. They are lowlife, lying scum.

I unknowingly bought something (universal wiring kit) from one of their ebay resellers who pretends they are not Hoffman, and it came with all the locking clips on the wiring connectors broken. To top it off, I paid extra for them to ship it USPS, and they instead shipped it the cheapest way (UPS) and stuck me with a COD for the shipping and brokerage charges. Ebay did nothing and they fought me for weeks before offering a $30 refund on $110 in shipping and brokerage charges they stuck me with.

Now how did I know it was hoffman group? All the email replies came from [email protected].

19. Here is another customer of the HOFFMAN GROUP that got Phucked in the ass !

Purchased a Super Deluxe drop front end kit thru ebay and JOHNNY LAW MOTORS.
Kit was NOT complete incorrect parts and such. They don't even give a parts list of what is to be included or even instructions.. You have to goto there website and have them send to you in a email and that is just a exploded view of parts. Now here is the kicker They dragged there feet so long on this ordeal that cant make a claim thru ebay because it past the 30 day buyer protection.
And after reading thru this blog I wonder if this kit is going to be safe to drive?

It is for most part. Some pieces with no moving parts and that aren't used where safety or reliability might pass muster.
On a FB AD truck group I am in we have had an outfit who calls himself Uncle Jimmy's Jalopies pushing the Helix suspension pieces. He rather spams members when they ask any chassis related question. A check of his website shows an Oregon phone number and some searching shows that his "store/shop?" is a run down house in Beaverton.

24. I don't want to be to negative about your purchase; but you have the parts in hand, if they look like other Hoffman suspension pieces I have seen, I would take a good hard look at them. I didn't care for the welding, machining, and I might wonder about what metal they were cast from.

25. ^^^^^^
I don't know that the above seller is a Hoffman alias; but there is another whole range of ebay sellers that deal in Hoffman Helix, Vintage, American Shifter, etc parts. If you see the dropped & drilled $108 free shipping mystery (?) metal axles, the $1000 complete dropped axle front ends, etc; probably a clue where the stuff is coming from and what you would end up getting.

I'm considering a steering column from eBay, it's from steveshouseofspeed. I have also purchased other items from the Hoffman group not realizing. I have a KeepitClean wiring harness, which has worked out okay. I have bought seat belts from JohnnyLawMotors (too long, and surprised when they didn't come with mounting hardware) and a reverse/neutral safety switch from American Shifter Co. (doesn't work with a Powerglide, didn't tell me that, plus all four of the bolts were metric when only two were supposed to be metric and two SAE). So, I'm on the fence about buying this steering column, to say the least...

Looks like you answered your own question, Livemeyer. There are other steering columns available, and I believe you will find some eye opening info about Hoffmans, if you do a search.
I'm a total hack, but I still don't want ANY of their shit on my cars.

EDIT.. plus, if you have to change your name all the time, you are obviously running from the fact that you sell garbage, and always looking for new victims
