    Amazing work, guys!

Two guys (Serge & Franck) start an awesome new project: run a 202 Peugeot at Bonneville.
Target 232 km/h (145 mph), so now you know why its called 202at232.
So, a few nights ago, instead of sleeping, I can't prevent from doing a little scribble.

'Lil Coffin was the very first custom rod that I ever saw. I think it was 1964 or 1965 at the Rod and Custom car show in Pittsburgh, PA. Displayed at the main entrance, I was completely floored.

How I hate it,, let me count the ways....

Did it derive from a 32 tudor sedan? I never knew or read.?

looks like,to me, it was designed by a committee...

    Hello,

Back in the 60's double exposure shots were not so common. The technique was a guessing game as the 35 mm film had to be rewound (using the film winder lever) as to how far back to get the double exposure, then reshoot. By that time, unless it was a photo set up display, the action was gone in an instant.

The above photo was an action shot taken with a 16mm color movie camera. When these were originally developed, these double exposure shots were not on the film. But, digital renderings made it possible to go frame by frame, resulting in some double exposures.

Just by accident, I discovered that with the modern programs, you can rewind or fast forward in increments to catch whatever is on that old filmstrip. Digital copies make it possible. But, DVD copies and VHS copies cannot do the same as a direct digital copy from the original films.

Watching these old films sometimes brings up the most unusual photographs. Technically, I did take the shot, but did not know it until 58 years later.

Night time: Newport Fashion Island Cinema Theater entrance grand driveway.

Practicing with B/W film was ok, as it was pretty inexpensive if you wound your own film reels. But using store bought Kodak Ektachrome slide film, was expensive to do some experimenting. This shot of Nick Macaluso’s cool 40 Ford Sedan Delivery was just in the perfect setting for a color magazine cover or color insert shot…Newport Fashion Island Big Cinema driveway front entrance.

I had taken a lot of night color shots using the 35mm film camera in all different places and this one just hit the spot. Since I was at the end of the film roll, I decided to experiment by rewinding…

We did not know it came out until we had the slides developed professionally. This type of set up photo shoot allows you to take the photo, rewind and re shoot without losing anything, since your subject is not moving away.

The magazines did not like the shot saying that it confuses the viewer/reader…it was not used at all. We all have different opinions as to what makes a cool shot. Today, it is very difficult to do double exposure shots with the small, digital cameras that most of us have.

But, if you have one of those powerful full size digital cameras that have a multiple exposure mode, it is possible to get very creative. But, for the rest of us using pocket digital cameras that give off super high quality digital shots, a commercial, photo program could do it for you.

Indoor Xmas lights in one room, then with a single candle in a different, dark room for the double exposure.

As an aside, I still have one last 35 mm color film roll that is 10 years old, but never used. The complete set of Canon lenses, black, Canon AE2 camera, black auto F2.8 300 telephoto, plus extenders to make a 400 + 600mm lenses, plus a suspension backpack that is still sitting in my dark, cool closet waiting its turn for someone.

Under wraps: ALL, never used since I bought it new, years ago. This is all before I decided to move on to the handy, digital age with the powerful small pocket size cameras, multi power zooms, and high MP quality.

    Art, right in your pocket.

  26. Verde, if you google it you should find a good article about that car. It has been covered a lot over the years. It Did start out a sedan and began it’s wild ride as a pretty traditional hot rod/custom bit Dave was continually evolving and changing it.
