ive been racking my brain and searching for pics of a shorty roadster ive seen in a thread here years ago but i cant find it! No doors, quarters attached straight to cowl... Think i found one pic ^^^^ pretty sure its the same roadster but its from the front, and i know i saw a side pic or rear 3/4 pic with the owner in the shot. Help! And if anybody has any pics of that type of roadster post em please! Thanks...
Ok now that i have his name, found the kustomrama link. http://www.kustomrama.com/index.php?title=Gene_Peterson's_1931_Ford Love this roadster!
Gebhard I'm pretty sure it was early 60s probably pre 65 if I get a chance to go through my old Hot Rods I'll let you know.
Don't want to hijack your thread, but I think I remember a thread about the Beach Boy song mentioning shorts. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum...ort-as-in-chopped-short.996507/#post-11228918 There was a lot of discussion of what the term "short" meant. I wounder if this is the correct answer?
I've got that issue somewhere out in my stash but it would take a year to find it. I don't think they told too many details on how the car was built though. I thought it was pretty nifty then and still do.
I put a pic from a old ebay listing of the spread had alot of info but hard to read from the crappy pic. It was a coupe! Im gonna buy a copy and ill scan and put it on this thread when i do.
I just might..... I have the perfect starting point a 32 chevy roadster cowl. Which will be near impossible to find doors or body parts so i was thinking of getting some ford quarters or something and making something crazy
IIRC, EMS(?) makes (made) a 32 chev roadster. Don't know how popular it ever became, was marketed towards street rodders as viable choice against the 32 ford. Might be worth looking into. Marcus...
Cool .... there's 2 dashes for this on that auction site now. One cheaper than the other. .... also two complete bodies on that auction site .... one EMS and the other not so certain ... says repro steel then original. Who knows ? Interesting this post came up today. I thought it was cool finding 1932 steel Chevrolet roadsters, or anything close, steel wise .... for sale. EDIT: 2 original dashes, and one new one. Meh' on the new ... who wants that ?? Then the bodies ... EMS first. Sh#tload of pics' but the panels and top bows are all I'll load. It's a pain in the ass doing this on a mobile. Then the one with frame, and supposedly steel body ... picture could be 'glass ?? Dunno'. Ad says steel. Then to finish a completely unrelated post to shortened roadsters .... look at this 1932 Chevrolet Canopy Express ... 1932 Chevrolet anything rules !!
Thanks for those, i already have all that saved Those dash’s have been for sale forever prices way to high last time i looked. Its gonna be awhile before i can do anything with it....one day... hopefully soon
