Technical 3/4" steering shaft w/ GM steering wheel end needed

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by nmpontiac, Jul 20, 2017.

  1. I'm building a cowl steering setup and need about a 12" section of 3/4" dia. shaft with the GM steering wheel splined end on it. Does anybody sell this end?-I can find all kinds of 3/4" shafts with the 3/4"-36 spline end, just not the steering wheel spline end. The setup is very much like the Casney coupe with the Mopar box. I can pick up a GM column and tear it apart, just thought somebody might have this part available.

you don't have one laying around? Huh.

  3. Jim, I think I have a GM tilt wheel column down at my other house in Reserve, NM (610 mi. round trip) but if I remember, the tilt wheel setup just has a very short shaft on the steering wheel end.

you probably want something from a 50s-60s car or truck without tilt.

  6. Jim, I looked at Borgeson stuff on Summit - guess I missed it. Thank you, you're always very helpful.
