  3. Weird, yes, rare, no doubt, innovative, for sure, ugly, well, even Ghia can get it wrong at times.

And Cow Hide Interior! Shades of 50's Hollywood Cowboys.
And a (power) step built into the bumper and I thought Chevy invented it for their trucks.
A very interesting package, I could go on with the innovations that are common place today.
I would one it and drive it

That must have been 54 or 55 maybe? It reminds me of the 57 Belvedere wagon I used ride in the way back of. There's a lot of smoke coming off that thing. You wudda thought they would warm it up before filming it.

The front grill area reminds me of a 60's Pontiac with ford taillights as bumper ends. I kinda like a little different.

I got the Pontiac vibe too. It's not pretty, but it is interesting. Been missing your articles, JB.

Another chapter in the "Wretched Excesses" playbook. This is the one that should have been on the Andrea Doria.

At first glance, I thought it was a Hearse. Weird and Feo but still interesting.

  15. The station wagon version of the Monkeemobile.

Maybe Jefferys got the idea from this car?

I saw that car unrestored at the Gilmore when Bortz did his exhibit in the 90,s. Haven't seen it lately.

Proportion wise,it's OK except for the Mae Wests on the front end. Also, the back roof looks like a 1950's pleasure boat roof turned backwards.....I'd drive it

I like it. Reminds me of a "Star Trek" shuttle craft. To boldly go where no family has gone before. Yep, I'd cruise it every day.

Nothing weird about that. It was a promise of a future we never got.

That makes a 58 Oldsmobile look downright purdy...

With the introduction of the stunning 1957 Chrysler cars just over the horizon in late '56 the Plainsman was nothing more than a styling dead end. It would've looked revolutionary in '52 or '53.
