Retractables in that state of disrepair just kill me.
There was one in the pick-a-part in Dan Diego,,,23 years ago now. I took the servos, the cable and harness out of it.
I was going to get a part from a T-bird guy in Escondido after that for my 57 wagon.
I told him and he gave me $200 for the lot. Not bad. 2 hours before I paid 30.
He stuffs em in a box to ship to a guy in Nebraska.
I asked if he was gonna check em and he told me he didn't care if they worked.
The Nebraska guy would restore them and send him $600 for the complete set.
I made money, he made money, neither of us had a car they'd fit.
I'll bet the Nebraska guy made a lot of money. Hope so.

I always wanted to see this car when it was on kijiji. I believe I asked you for the model number that was body tag under the hood. The reason is, I bought a very rough and incomplete 1941 Plymouth P12C Special Deluxe coupe that has Chrysler of Canada body tags, making it a Canadian car also. Its still wearing its factory black paint so who knows if it was for civilian use. The thing is - it has the standard 1941 Plymouth front sheetmetal, which is original, and the standard 1941 dash in it. It also has the 1941 fenders with the speed lines in them.

Looks like maybe a 27 Buick?

  14. Those fenders look to be in amazingly good condition compared to the rest of the remains.

  15. Nope, not a Buick. Wrong radiator shell contour.

  16. Maxwell never made that style landau sedan and the double raised reveal on the fenders is different.

  17. Wish there was a photo of the dashboard or radiator shell. I have seen that double reveal on the tops of the fenders somewhere, but my mind is going. I see what looks to be an overhead valve engine in it.

  19. thought I saw a Maxwell with similar fenders but didn't pay much attention to the cab portion. Cars from that era are tough to ID sometimes.
The more I look, I'm thinking maybe a Nash, '27 or so? The double belt lines look similar to some Nash's but not sure the year. Yes, hard to really tell given the profile pictures provided.

  20. My 0.02 is a 25-26 Marmon, BUT, Could also be a 25-26 Nash as the sedans with the Landau irons had a trunk on the back. JW

  21. Yep....I just found some 1925 Nash cars that are the same. Here are the touring and roadster versions....same fenders and stud spacing on the rear spare mount. That landau sedan is a hell of a rare car. 1925 Nash.jpg 1925 Nash Roadster.jpg .

Hi, the car is a c1926 Nash. I see several parts I need for my restoration, if you are passing by again or live nearby, please can I ask you to find out if the owner is prepared to sell parts off the vehicle. If so could I have a contact name and tel number or preferably an email address.
    Many thanks

  26. Looks like about 4.3 or so miles north of Trona. Also looks like they have a lot more stuff there.

I went to the junk yard last weekend and there was a 64-65 mustang convertible sitting there on blocks. Other then the floors rotted out the rockers and the rest of the sheet metal didn't look as bad. To bad it's sitting rotting away

    No it isn't, it's a Fing Mustang.

  29. One's trash is another's treasure. I've had my fill of 'stangs over the last 40 years too but don't like seeing old iron rotting away.
