Back in the 1970's we used a Firestone on our nova late model. I cannot remember the correct size......it was something like 15 X 15.0 .......it had a gold or yellow stripe.....can anyone remember the correc name....."thanks
I remember seeing them in photos but the Firestone store I worked in never sold and actual race tire as far as I know. The local dirt track guys in Waco where I worked then usually ran used tires and would hunt though the pile for old Atlas Bucrons.
In 1964 or 1965, Firestone distributed some Indy tires (that had a gold stripe) to dealers as a display piece. My buddy snagged two for his Mustang. They were hard as a rock when new. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
That looks like the tire.... Just need the tire size. Thanks for looking, it is aprox 15" wide on a 15" wide rim
My uncle went around to all the dealers around the time and got their display tires. He ran them on his T-bucket at the time.
We called them Indys but the official name I don recall any name. they made various sizes. 8",10" and 15" wide . they all had a gold stripe and the Good Year Indys were the same sizes but with a blue streak. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
