Technical Tire info needed

    Back in the 1970's we used a Firestone on our nova late model. I cannot remember the correct size......it was something like 15 X 15.0 .......it had a gold or yellow stripe.....can anyone remember the correc name....."thanks

    I remember seeing them in photos but the Firestone store I worked in never sold and actual race tire as far as I know. The local dirt track guys in Waco where I worked then usually ran used tires and would hunt though the pile for old Atlas Bucrons.

    In 1964 or 1965, Firestone distributed some Indy tires (that had a gold stripe) to dealers as a display piece. My buddy snagged two for his Mustang. They were hard as a rock when new.

    That looks like the tire.... Just need the tire size. Thanks for looking, it is aprox 15" wide on a 15" wide rim

    I have a pair of these that are 16". We called them Indy Hot Lap tires.

    My uncle went around to all the dealers around the time and got their display tires. He ran them on his T-bucket at the time.

    We called them Indys but the official name I don recall any name. they made various sizes. 8",10" and 15" wide . they all had a gold stripe and the Good Year Indys were the same sizes but with a blue streak.
