  11. I'll be hangin out in the swap meet again this year. Have some stuff to sell and no car to drive anyway. Need to pic up some big items inside so it will be convenient to park the truck in the swap area. I'll be in a teal s-10, stop and say hey. Tim

I haven't been since the change and really not planning on going again. Was a little disappointed in the change.

Krylon, I go every year and have yet to see any Toyotas or Datsuns. The only difference since the "change" is lots more 50's and 60's cars which is fine with me as I'm not into streetrods.

There's over 10,000 cars at the Nats. You don't have to look at something you don't like. There's lots there I do like. Im not going to argue with someone about Toyotas and Datsuns that I haven't seen there.

First time to Louisville. Been to Columbus, Memphis (1971) St. Paul, etc. Got a room at Ramada Plaza on Bluegrass Parkway. They still have rooms, and they're reasonable on price. Hope it's not a bad area.
Any of you Louisville guys know the hotel / area?

mcs, Bluegrass Parkway is east of Louisville and definitely not in a bad area. The west end is where you don't need to be. You made a good choice. Should have lots of Nats attendees staying there. Lots of good restaurants in the area and a short drive to the Fairgrounds. I have several friends who stay in the area who love Marks Feed Store BBQ in Middletown a short distance away. Any other questions let me know.

You made a good choice. There will be a mini car show in every hotel parking lot that week. It should work out well for you as long as it isn't 95 degrees every day or raining. Hopefully you'll enjoy your stay here. Good luck....

Another option is LaGrange, Ky (zip 40031) which is about 25 miles (20 minutes) from the fairgrounds. There are several hotels there right next to the freeway including a Quality Suites (888-305-3366), Super 8 (502-991-8116), Comfort Inn (502-222-5678) and Best Western Ashbury Inn (888-283-3404). There's a historic district about half a mile from the I-71 freeway (LaGrange is exit 22) which is where CSX freight trains go right down the middle of the street. Send me a PM if I can help you out in any way....

thewildturkey46, you really made a good choice. I know someone who stays at the LaQuinta and loves it. Can I join you on the night they have the free BBQ?

Sleeping in my own bed 50 miles east!:) 2 Days planned for Louisville and the other 2 doing the 127 Yard Sale with the Inlaws...(or as the wife says..Sucking up Brownie Points!)

  30. I had a pretty good Friday and Saturday at the GG Columbus swap so I'm going to give the L-villa sway another chance. It's been good to me before. Got a room at the Best Western in Jeffersonville, IN. Been staying there for 30 years or so.
