I've been out of the game for a while now,,

    Had a bunch of kids
    Ran out of money
    Ran out of time
Had to sell off all the cars.
Had to clean out the garage to make room for toys
and I spent my time working in an office and getting fat,,,

    …but I kept my welder

I can barely get under and around a car like I could
    Paso is gone..
but the TROG in bringing me back to life.

I decided this week to start collecting parts. I’m going to shoot to build a car to get there next summer.

I’ve got a long road, I need a lot of parts, and I don’t have much money to spend,,, but that’s the plan. I don’t have to race on the beach next year, but I want to get there in my own model A.

Let me know if you’ve got any parts ;)
I’ll see you on the sand

    Hey Sloppy,,
Building a 30-31 coupe on a 32 chassis, and since I'm starting this week,, Ive got nothing.
I need 1940 wheels, 40-48 spindles, f1 steering, a wishbone with a 2.25 perch, I'd like an early bronco rear end, and I haven't decided about a drivetrain yet,, but I'm thinking just an sbc to get on the road cheap and fast,,, probably with an s10 t5 transmission, but I'm flexible. Basically I have a grill shell and an axle.
Once I get all that,, I'll need a 32 frame and some springs, and then I'll start looking for the body. Then all of the nickel and dime stuff..... you know,,, just a couple things :)

when you get closer I may be able to help...
    but I am at 04210...
30 miles further east and my feet would be in the Atlantic..
buddy built a '30 coupe on '32 rails... his first parts were a pair of crusty '39 tail lights...

TROG specifies no OHV motors like small block chevies. Better add a flathead to your list. And glad you are still around. I heard the Pharaohs tied you to a bumper and dragged you....

I am taking a '40 sedan in a different direction, I will have the front suspension, steering, stock flathead {Pretty badly stuck] and the stock trans, stock driveline and stock differential, You are welcome to any and all of it, but you will need to come to Grants Pass, Oregon (55 miles above Cali border) and pick it up.

For TROG no parts newer than 1953 on cars so that leaves your car out if your going to run a Bronco rear end. I have a 75 Bronco 9 inch in my A roadster and between that and the 66 top loader 4 speed I am out of luck too!:(

  13. TROG question,

For just being a spectator, can you drive in with a ohv and newer the '53 parts?. Also is there special parking for old cars or just general parking..........I knew I should have went to the last one......damn work.

  14. My guess is you can go watch in anything. Can't drive on the beach unless your a participant.

I think I am doing the exact same thing you are doing.
I simply got tired of going to car shows on a weekly basis so I have not been to a car cruse night in a few years now.
I guess this might be me just getting older and loosing interest.

There is a car show sort of. If I recall they had one area inside where they had some cars that were old customs and rods. They were parked next to the pits near the vendors. They also let a bunch of older cars out onto the beach but outside of the venue for the racing right at the front gate.
