I'll be posting a bunch of updates soon. In the meantime I cleaned up and painted a really nice set of 40 Ford wheels with some single stage gloss black that will be going on the car. They're out sunbathing today

How is it something so simple as an early Ford rim in plain old black can look so good? But they always do.

This is a fantastic build! I met you at TROG and your roadster was really cool too. Keep the details coming!

New shoes. 550's up front 700's in the rear. I was going to go with the new excelsior radials that look like bias plys.. but decided at the last minute on my old faithful Firestone's..they just look right I think

They look like the ones I sold to Johnny G about a year or so ago.

Took apart some of the rear sheet metal which was bolted together.. Cleaning up and priming the areas where the panels are joined to prevent rust down the road.

Going to install the trunk lid skin on the inter panel tomorrow. Worked on getting the gaps nice with the inner panel and hanging it correctly

Got some cool latches from the friend of mine Ben Haag. I used these as safety latches in my three window and really like the way that they work. They are a bit hard to find I think they're pretty cool. They came in the mail today and I couldn't help but clamp one on real quick for a look-see[IMG][IMG][IMG]

Checking the fit on the inner panel to the decklid skin. At first I thought I might have to do some shrinking on the skin edges but with a little persuasion it looks like it's going to fall into place nicely.

What are those latches from? Are they antique, reproduction, or original design? I'd love to have a pair for my '49 Chevy doors!

Those latches were originally used on World War II planes. They were quadrants which were used to open various doors on the planes.

I attach a piece of quarter inch aluminum rod which slides over into an eye on the other side of the door jamb locking the door in place as a safety.
