Uhm, where do you get rat rods from? My 35 Ford pickup is far from being a "rat rod". I made what I thought was a humorous post about the kind of crap we find on our vehicles. The replies have been hilarious as far as I'm concerned. If you don't like the thread, take a hike, don't bother reading any more.

Sorry to go off on you. Might I suggest a different emoji that better conveys the tongue in cheek aspect of your reply?

This must be where the saying "wing and a prayer" comes from.

  9. Actually pretty humorous if you think about it. Whodathunk 30 years ago that grown men in the 20-teens would be ready to go to blows over a tiny cartoon on an orthicon screen?!?

    I hate computers.

  14. Orthicon is a little dated terminology since computers longer use glass tubes for the computer screen they are flat now and 99% of them are a composite of a plastic material, but I get where he is coming from. HRP

No, I'm not the HAMB spell checker but this has really been bothering me here for a while.
I realize this has little to do with this thread but such an iconic name as Dzus needs to be spelled correctly as many people don't know the history of the Dzus Fastener Company or its founder William Dzus.
So much easier for successful internet searches when people know the correct spelling.

    Example

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dzus_fastener

    Now, back to wingnuts.

As long as you purchase your wing nuts, duez fasteners, and emoji's from The Hoffman Group, you have absolutely no reason for concern, as they will be high quality, time tested, and guaranteed parts. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

Spotted a 9" Ford rear in a junkyard once, crawled under to take off the u bolt nuts, and there wasn't any. U bolts were welded to the spring plates! Didn't have a hacksaw to cut them, so ended up leaving without it. Went back a few weeks later and the car had been crushed, probably the best thing for it. No telling what was done inside the rear, spider gears were probably welded too for a poor mans spool.

At least they didn't try to weld the rear axle to the leaf springs, that doesn't work well at all, I've seen that tried before....
The wing nuts are special, my breath is taken away by the idea of the wood block spacer on the driveshaft, and that reuse of the u bolt for the steering arm is beyond belief! I can hardly refrain myself from trying all these mind blowing ideas on my next project, if only I wasn't intending on driving it! Keep these unique ideas coming, I needed the good laugh tonight! Gee guys ...Give the guy some credit ...He did install a "safety" washer on the rod end ....He also did an excellent job of hiding the front brake lines, rods, actuating devices ???

  30. While your on the subject,I am not the best when it comes to the command of the English language,in particular spelling, I am a proud Son of the South so it's a part of my heritage & geological location to butcher the Kings English.

With the admission of my shortcomings I do have to bite my tongue when I see the word Deuce misspelled.

Duce or duece is just so wrong, especially if your a '32 guy. HRP
