Just some info on construction. I own a Wescott deuce roadster bodied car. The guy that set up my chassis owns one also. He wanted some glass work done on his and managed to talk s strict NCIS body man to at least look at the car. To say he was a snob is an understatement. I was there when he arrived and watched him crawl all over the Wescott body. After what seemed like forever, he emerged from the car and asked who built the body. He was told that a guy in Oregon built them. We asked why, and he began to explain in detail, all of the processees, fiberglass types, and other minute details that had us standing there looking like 2 monkeys looking at the back of a watch. He looked and said, rather sheepishly, that on a scale of 1 to 10, the BEST Corvette he has seen was a 4 and the Wescott was a solid 10! Needless to say, both of us have proudly remembered that day. I always heard great things about how good Wescott built their bodies, but never from a real documented expert. Even that endorsement, didn't impress the wife that the price was a bargain. After 10 years and even more miles, the body has proved it's worth. Just my observation and experience.

I agree with you, I have owned several and they are still going strong with a lot of original detail. Too bad the current thinking has reduced FG bodies to less than desirable in most new builds. The steel bodies did this to the market as they are priced the same as a Wescott. I am not sure they are still making bodies but I love'm.

    《 Another Wescott devotee here.

Lynn, I'll say it again too.
Many new arrivals in the FG biz, many are really nice, but not built as Dee did them.
Many followers, only one pioneer.....Dee Wescott.

This 'glass body is the most 'stock' like I've ever seen! I found the Image on Google from a site called American Dream Cars. It's basically a site to sell street rods. I've looked but can't find anything like it. Un-filled roof, working cowl vent, crank-out windshield, stock hinges...awesome!

Does anybody know who made it?

That 34' 5 Window shown from the American Dream Cars site is no longer being offered.
In fact, the guy who was building that 5 Window body had the the mold up for sale.
Spoke to him a year or so ago but I wasn't interested in purchasing the mold to start making the body.
Seems to me he was from up in the Northeast somewhere.

Yeah, after posting that, I got this PM from ‘37GAS’:

“That fiberglass 5 window was built by a guy in Florida about 7 or 8 years ago. He moved to Maine or someplace up there right after I bought his last body built in Florida. The last I heard he was out of business and was trying to sell his molds. The bodies where top notch, I have one.”

Mine is a early Gibbons body with the California Kid chop. It has held up amazingly well!!! And the Kid chop looks perfect.

My 32 5 window BeBop's body is built like a brick shit house. And they will build the body to your chassis, that way you know everything will fit and open correctly.

Ex L.A. Roadsters member (and good friend) Rick Stees had a Westcott built '30 Tudor Phaeton built.
It arrived on a trailer, the driver used a 'bar' to unstrap it, ('Turnkey car!) and directly shorted the 12 volt system, at a 'main artery'!
Let the smoke out of the entire electrical system.
I told Rick not to worry, I'd fix it.

Rewiring the 'glass tub was 'elementary', as Mr. Holmes would say. (if you find running GROUNDS to EVERYTHING 'elementary!)
But the workings of everything on that 'glass car were nothing short of 'amazing'...
I made the usual comments like, "Corvette shaped like a Tub", "Tubberware", (cute, huh?) Etc.
But every time I had to open a door (and close it) stuff was solid, quiet, fit PERFECTLY!...
...and I rewire LOTS of near-famous steel cars.
You'd be surprised at what I 'found' on some of the "TOP 10 IN THE NATION!"
Dee could do a 'glass body for me, I'd keep it. And 'savor' it. ...and run Ground Wires, many as it took...

I am working with them now on a 33 fuel coup style salt flat body chassis combo. Excellent folks to work with. Do you have any pictures of your progress?

I know that this is an old thread, but I like the topic and thought that I’d add a little to the subject.
Having had a couple of Wescott bodies = a 30 RPU a 34 Roadster-still have that, a Paul’s Fiberglass Body = 34 3W, Even a Gibbon 30 Tudor Tub that went away this past year.
These all have been good bodies....I prefer steel for the traditional take on Hot Rodding, I have a few....
The way that I as a young guy was able to participate in a much more timely manner was putting my Steel 34 3W Body aside after I’d put many $’s in it and it still wasn’t chopped or totally repaired yet as I ran out of $.....
So working for a shop that had a 30 RPU project that was to be a shop truck, I bought that, was affordable and was mostly steel except for the cab and fenders.... it sat on a P-Wood built Chassis built at P&J’s... 5D01D467-AE69-49DA-8E77-F084808E00A4.jpeg -I made it a chopped steel closed cab and my cousin has it to this day... C5C0C739-B6AE-4555-A744-CA823344FE74.jpeg my old boss recycled the body and it was a flatty powered traditional RPU that went to Germany as a kool lil Hot Rod.
    Followed that up with a Paul’s Fiberglass 34. 08875AB2-2B78-4642-8F82-B51CF321101B.jpeg 1FEA91AB-BA61-4423-B496-D6D3C99D4162.png B98B5F5B-2F1A-4A95-8ACA-F49D6A0896A8.png 9B8B3472-8C33-4820-AA5A-861ED5660F80.jpeg
D29F97D8-A4BF-495D-AABD-F1FB5E5434B1.jpeg Truly was a extremely nice body that had all the right lines. The only thing I didn’t like was that people were hot on Filled tops, hidden hinges and filled cowl vents.....the lack of them bugged me.....
Parts of this car helped me buy my house......
At that same time I was able to buy another past shop project that had stalled, A Wescott Body #4 Roadster Body, these bodies were going for $5500.00 at the time 34 years ago...it too did time in that 34 Coupes chassis.shown vvv here. 8312C767-9E31-480B-9272-C63F72E7C5F6.png It eventually ended up back on its intended P-Wood built Chassis-below. 45AD4DF8-1F87-44B9-8D1F-E4FB89E7E293.png DB8DFB8B-4905-41EF-9362-69DF6F5A2798.png AD31EEDA-7AB7-4665-B5E9-491F82E5AB63.jpeg
These cars were attainable because of their cost.
Below is the Flyin Flathead 34, which our Flyin Brian recently rebuilt in a much different guise. 626E906E-F573-4EFF-8C73-A4A4B71DE3A5.jpeg AD02A3F5-AC2D-4796-8B60-364275D91185.jpeg Somehow I was inspired by this car as years later I saw it again and still dig it.
So there’s a few more of these that are of different manufacturers.
Below is a is one out of Florida I think it’s called a “Khoury” ?????? Spelling may be off, this was a friend of mines car, it was more traditional when he had it. 63408001-E9B1-4C4F-83FD-80AC4CD67D03.jpeg 39B1A5A2-2001-4D2D-BA06-3734DEEC5150.jpeg 316E27EE-D5C8-419A-86B3-C32CD7FD60E8.jpeg I didn’t like this one as much as the Paul’s body... it was fine though....
Next are a couple more Wescott bodies. One famous the other one 1/2 famous EEE4B6F3-AEEC-4157-897E-62D7422A41D9.jpeg 1708BF4E-FB46-4657-98F9-E65196F9F26D.jpeg The lower one once was the original E&B Sedan or basically parts of it..Both are timeless.

So next is a coupe that are online at times. D194CE74-7DA0-41CE-9C0D-26F73EF79B36.jpeg Doors are not hung, not sure about it’s inner structure.
This next one is Australian (Deuce Customs) and has been brought up before. I saw this at Squeak Bell’s personal shop.
I actually really liked this one as it has the Bonneville Chop & exterior hinges. FDA83963-FDE6-4D92-9DB2-398A21624522.png A1BB22AF-8F9F-4ED5-A849-1EAB892A41BF.png 3BBB385B-EA1A-46F5-97A4-7537B9AAFE16.png Many manufacturers are gone, but their products stay with us. Lots of good glass cars out there as well as replacement steel. Good time to be building a Hot Rod.

This is an Outlaw body (circa 2000) w/steel hood, fenders & running boards on a TCI chassis. Build was stalled a couple of times & changed hands & a lot of money before finished . Had a 502/502 Ram-Jet from Street & Performance that I replaced w/crate 350/290. Took me 2 years to work all the bugs out but body was great - no issues with it. Should have kept it.

Don't think SAR is making the complete 34 three window body any longer.

I had a long talk yesterday with Steve at Ravon Street Rods in Montana. He is happy to work with the buyer regarding options. I don’t believe he does a 5 window but for a 3 window he can chop the top, add a cowl vent, stock door hinges, roll down rear window and working wind shield. He is probably who I’ll be going with.

I also talked with Duane at Kwiw Connection/ California roadster co. I was hoping to get an Australian 5w coupe but he was saying because of the exchange rate he doesn’t think he’ll be getting anymore anytime soon out of Australia.

Deuce Customs don't make a 33/34 5 window, just the 3 window. There was a local guy who made a couple of glass 5 windows but he quit after only making a couple. Saw one he had for sale at a swap a few years ago but being a 32 guy I never checked it out. Also not sure if it was a US 5 window or the Aussie version- they are different.
Also our dollar is getting less than 70 cents at present so it must have to be real low to make shipping of bodies to the US practical.

Well dog gone! An Australian body would be my first choice. It’s been about 16 yrs, maybe time to make another trip down under!

Thanks for verification as to the source of the pictures of the 34 5 window coupe.

It is however, not an Australian body, as Swifty attests to.

    Maybe it came from N.Z.???

There is/was a company called "Deuce Farm" that operated out of New Zealand that produced a 34 5 window coupe amongst a vast range of 32 bodies. Alas, their website is no longer. Perhaps this was the source of this body.

There is a one-man show out here that makes a 34 5 window Aussie body, usually produces them on a per order basis, and sells them as a flopper. However, note, it is of the uniquely Australian version of the 5 window coupe..
